@markfoden@pluralistic Which makes it so annoying that the author of this piece is trying to raise 30 million to build his own club where he promised to not block the fire exits.
Because the Masto-club that’s already on the other side of the street, with functioning fire exits, isn’t cool enough.
@liztai I’ve been told Vietnamese call it Lunar New Year, and hate the term Chinese New Year. I don’t know about Spring Festival, I’ll ask about that next chance I have.
#FediBlock A new instance, nederland.gay, has tech[.]lgbt listed as a “bubble instance”. After inquiring about this, a nederland.gay admin, Alex, sent me an agitated DM informing me that they don’t view tech[.]lgbt as racist, that they don’t agree with everything t.l does, and that they received help from this instance regarding hosting and moderation.
They also wrote something nonspecific, but I think aimed at Ro.
@atomicpoet Oh yes, definitely. But governments do have the resources to set up their own AI without the public cloud as well, so I do want to distinguish between AI that you use for yourself, and AI that is used to rule over you.
The Dutch tax authorities used AI to identify fraud. It went exactly how you'd expect it'd go, and this was before cloud AI became popular.
@mjg59 So this would be a programming language without documentation, with a closed source compiler?
I think programs written in it are open source when you share the input (description of how you want it to behave), but I wouldn't want to be a package maintainer for it.
@emilygorcenski I did automate. I can confirm your suspicion. The times the automation breaks and I have to fix it, takes more time than just doing it manually.
Is #Firefox removed from #FreeBSD#ports? pkg search firefox just yields firefox-esr, and pkg upgrade would remove firefox without putting anything back.
