It seems that @pixelfed (https://pixelfed.org/), a FLOSS-based Insta alternative for photo sharing, is getting more press and buzz because Meta decided to delete or remove posts mentioning Pixelfed URLs or accounts. When are corporate overlords going to learn about the Streisand Effect? Any attempts to censor and suppress information always backfire and lead to the info becoming even more widely known to others who would have ignored or not searched for it.
