@csgraves yes apt output colors and other stuff that can break your scripts. For example:
apt search vim | grep zeal

You will get this:

WARNING: apt does not have a stable CLI interface. Use with caution in scripts.

Is this relatable? Use apt https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/ubuntu-lts-debian-linux-apt-command-examples/ instead of apt-get. Less typing. But, for scripting need stick with the apt-get ;)
