    This not a plea for money, donations, etc. This is not a joke or a shitpost.

    A few months ago we found out my newlywed wife has a serious cancer diagnosis.

    She is going into surgery tomorrow.

    There is no expectation that this surgery will be life-threatening, but you never know what will happen, and it is already life-and-body-changing. And, we will not know if we will find more cancer when they get in there, that is a concern. Even after the surgery is done, we will be going through a long period of chemotherapy. This isn't the beginning of the end, it's just the beginning of a long period of treatment.

    Whatever happens, we are putting it into the hands of the Father. But I am asking for your prayer for her.

    I don't know what else to say about it but it was time to ask.

    I have everything I ever wanted. @Death takes impeccable care of me. I am in a Church that I love. God bless Father George, who rushed to get cleric to rush my baptism and chrismation, given my condition.

    gave me the oils of Saint Lazarus which Death puts into a cross on my forehead every morning.

    God has blessed my life over and over. I know it sounds redundant to hear it over and over, I apologize for that, but pour out a sip and celebrate your own life. I'd do almost all the same, I'd be nicer to @f0x, and that's it.

    Sobriety day 2: After a sleepless night, I did manage about 3 hours of light sleep at work and then 5 hours at night, though it felt like I kept slipping in and out of it. 3mg melatonin across both and a speck of weed for the latter don't seem to have helped that much, and nicotine might have actually harmed it - though that's been many hours before sleep. Heart feels a bit heavy and I'll have to take it easy. But weekends are for sleeping anyway so who knows, I might still drop like a log in the afternoon.

    And since this should probably be about alcohol too... yeah, honestly no cravings whatsoever.
