Sitting on the sidelines to “just ignore the drama” is what got us concentration camps.

Meanwhile, a statement from the Rails Core Team:

Regular PSA that if you have any audience, especially in tech, use your reach to speak out against the mainstreaming of fascism and racism.
Don’t need a password manager if you just use the password “secret” everywhere!
The latter actually gets you fucked
@gsuberland pretty much
The strongest whiff there’s something wrong is when someone wants to lead the same open source project for more than a handful of years—they simply should be bored of it by then and do something else.
Not saying it’s true of all maintainers but doing the same OSS thing for 20+ years is a red flag that they care more about admiration and “power” than the projects.
@bremner the worst
“We should give this person who has been making racist comments and written racist essays the benefiting a doubt!”

Actually it's extremely fair to ostracize team members who support ethnic cleansing.
Ethnic cleansing is a form of genocide and as such is a crime, not an opinion.
@_elena Leaked Slack comment from the CEO indicates what they really think: "the Nazis are the victims" -- see https://www.theverge.com/tech/988536/1password-dhh-linux-controversy
@rakslice @hbons @verge their number one trait is that they’re literally always projecting when they tell about other people (see also number of closeted gay people among republicans).
you can trust that every accusation they make is actually a confession
human-computer inaction
in this something
@hbons @rakslice @verge Usually companies at least cursory research people they’re giving seven figures to, that’s just PR 101.
Totally unrelated, the first Google result for “Nazi Linux” is Omarchy.
@riverpunk I assume brown theming

See how easy this is
I’m announcing today that my company has decided to not support Nazi Linux with a million dollars.
@gloriouscow I agree, and they even have emulators themselves on their site, so I mean
@gloriouscow I'd offer various packs to install inside of it. The recent screensaver thing for macOS that emulates 68K Macs add the flying toaster, that sort of stuff, offers a way to download packs of screensavers from archive.org. This worked really well and I think more software should do this.
@tomcullen yeah, from what I hear, Bitwarden is a good choice on Linux
@gsuberland I really like that iOS has a toggle to turn these off, it's so intrusive.
