Why do we think it's blatantly AI?

Just in case anyone had missed it, the title of the new book about #Facebook / #Meta is “Careless People” because of this line in “The Great Gatsby”.

Hi, #Today I decided to try to #getfedihired — I've got many years of experience with web development, programming and production (#HTML, #CSS, #Javascript), I can make myself useful in anything on the open-source side of back end, i.e. the #Perl, #Python, #PHP, #MySQL, #Linux kind of area.

I live in #Sydney Australia and would be happy to work in-office, remote or hybrid.

They introduced DEI practices in orchestras, because they believed male musicians were getting chosen over female musicians due to bias.

Everyone performed their auditions blind, behind a screen.

This … didn't work. Male musicians still got chosen over similar or better female musicians.

Because of shoes.

The panel were hearing female footwear sounds on the stage as the auditioners walked out behind the screen.

Once they eliminated that problem by having everyone wear sneakers, it turned out that "merit" included a way higher percentage of female musicians.

They might simply move to #Mastodon which isn't a company, doesn't have any single domain or IP address, can't be sued, and doesn't have any money even if you did.

The Australian government singled out a few large companies which could be fined headline-friendly sums of money and which, not for nothing, are competitors with the Murdoch empire.

Not for nothing, BlueSky was the platform which allowed the n-word in usernames and didn't even apologise when people complained.

Why would that get anyone banned? Almost nothing gets you banned from Twitter nowadays. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.

I am only realising just now the implications of his phrase "tech Zionism" — he thinks that all tech people think like him?

He thinks all tech people are Musk-like "rational" libertarians who think it's empirically true that Black people are not as intelligent as white people, et cetera ?

This is like when Dave Chapelle tells us how Black people regard trans people, as if nobody could be both.
