This music video really breaks my heart.

Only 15 years ago, Russians could still jump and sing freely on The Red Square in #Moscow to the lyrics from American rock band Linkin Park. Because in 2011, Vladimir Putin had still not succeeded in destroying #Russia completely.

As much as I hate the corrupt political system in The Kremlin, my heart bleeds for the ordinary Russian who has seen one leader destroy the future of an entire nation.

Historically, Denmark has been a country of high equality. But during the last 6 years this has changed remarkably.

In the C25 top companies of Denmark, CEO salaries have grown by 115 percent, while ordinary worker salaries have risen just 2.4 percent.

These are real wages numbers for the entire 6 year period.

Today I discovered that the social medium Nostr is mirroring my Mastodon profile via a mirroring server called mostr.pub.

I looked up a few other Mastodon profiles. They are mirrored too.

I never chose to be on Nostr, but my complete Mastodon profile and a number of posts are there.

I wonder what the legality of that is.

Since 1965, section 2 of the US Voting Rights Act has protected minorities against being Gerrymandered to oblivion by racist politicians who want to redraw election maps in such a way that black people cannot win elections.

Yesterday, The US Suppreme Court effectively invalidated section 2 in a new spectacular ruling. The immediate consequence is that Louisiana politicians now want to postpone their primary elections so they can have another go at disenfranchising black voters.

Sickening.

His department of injustice is now trying to send James Comey to jail for sharing a beach photo of some seashells that someone had arranged to make up the numbers 8647.

Here, 86 could be interpreted as slang for "get rid of", and 47 could mean Donald Trump.

Trump calls that a death threat and he wants Comey locked up for 10 years in jail.

Trump started the US gerrymandering circus, and so Democrats simply said, "two can play that game".

Last night, Democrats won a people's vote to redistrict Virginia, and Trump is — as expected — losing it on Truth Social, and — without a shred of evidence — claiming that the election must have been rigged, because he lost.

By far the info I miss the most in people's profiles here on Mastodon is your location.

All too often, I see people post something related to their specific countries with zero indication where they are from.

You know where you are from, but unless you tell us, your fellow Mastodonians don't, and your post makes no sense.

No one needs your home address, but to most people it is safe to write at least your country on your profile page.

Out of 38 OECD countries, the US provides the worst healthcare for its people.

Why is Mastodon the best social medium in 2026?

Picture 1: If I share a post with some objectively good news, it gets 97 boosts and 140 likes.

Picture 2: If I share the same post on Threads, it gets zero interactions — zero! — because it contains a link to the competing social medium YouTube, and on Threads, Mark Zuckerberg has decided that the algorithm should not promote such content.

Threads is where the rich decide what we can talk about.

I do not think Americans realise the far reaching economic consequences of having elected Donald Trump.

While the Danes have elected a new parliament which may push for less military purchases from the U.S., the citizens of Denmark have now presented two new citizen petitions: One requiring parliament to make it illegal to use Peter Thiel's Palantir AI surveilance software, and another one preventing the use of American technologies in our national health systems.

Weeks after the Danish election, the right wing election farce continues:

A Danish newspaper reveals that Emilie Schytte, who was elected for the far right party Borgernes Parti, is not living in Denmark as required by the constitution, but in Sweden where her children go to school, and her name is on the mailbox of an apartment.

She claims to live in a house in Denmark, but neighbors say that house is being renovated, and apparently, election videos shared by her were recorded in Sweden.

This is the key difference:

In 2024, only 63 percent of US voters voted, and Trump became president.

Sunday, 80 percent of Hungarian voters turned out to vote, and Orbán was removed.

Be like the Hungarians.

The US now has a president which attacks the pope for promoting peace.

Meanwhile, Iran has a president who condemns the insults to the pope.

This really is an “Are we the baddies?” moment that should make every Republican reconsider their support for the bully.

The central bank of Denmark, Nationalbanken, today announced its new offline payment system which means Danes will be able to pay digitally at the store — even when the internet is down.

This means both credit card payments and cellphone payments go through at the counter up to 7 days into an internet breakdown, because of a new technological solution which is being rolled out at grocery stores first.

Pharmacies will be added to the system later this year.
