@report_press If I understand this correctly, the goal of this report is to remove entirely the influence of RMS upon FSF, present and future, and for it to repudiate selected past influences. And to apply pressure, it is encouraging a boycott against the FSF until those demands are met.

That is the stick. What is the carrot? If RMS steps down of his own accord, and retracts all those prior public statements, what benefit could the liberated software movement (not just FSF) expect?

@RikerGoogling It requires a crystallization phase of obtainium and handwavium that only forms at very specific temperature and pressure, but is then metastable at the usual conditions amenable to organic life. The default replicator settings will refuse to synthesize it, because the safety calculations predict it will immediately explode. You just have to turn the safety settings off and erect a level 10 force field all the way around it. That's even more hassle than trading with a Ferengi.

@Lana I have a pithified quote from a lawyer acquaintance that goes "I quit being a prosecutor when I got tired of putting poor people into prisons." The ones who only stopped prosecuting because they got elected to a better office never hit their limit.

Putting rich people into prisons, on the other hand... if it happened more often, maybe I'd feel more generous to prosecutors.

The ones using these rounds *know* they can cause permanent injury with certain aim points. In the US, they are *counting on it*.

@Adam_Cadmon1 @inthehands My thought has always been that the eldritch abominations that lurk behind reality saw the early (D) primaries and fixed South Carolina, then locked down broadcast media to force the story "Biden is winning" to ensure the desired result. Even if that didn't work, they have that bogus superdelegate system in place. Sanders was never going to get a fair shot, and Warren didn't kiss the correct rings.

Worst of all are the sites that require JS to display a static text article or blog entry. Why do you need a client-side script to replace the work your HTTP daemon could be doing on the server with less bandwidth and fewer compute cycles?

@punklawyer Some places have more tolerance for people "being extra" than others. The swath of the US ranging from NYC to Philly will, at minimum, charge more for doing trendy influencer nonsense like that to a perfectly good bagel.

It's the equivalent of asking someone else to cut the crusts off your sandwich. As an adult. Grow up. If you want your bagel "scooped", you can *always* do it yourself. If it weren't just a waste of time you want to externalize onto the people serving you.

Currently reading up on what happened to Vichy collaborators like Laval and Pétain and all their underlings after the war. "How will I survive if the fascists win?" is not a question you should ask yourself. Instead, let it be "Am I willing to be executed for assisting in crimes against universal rights out of sheer cowardice?" Because they won't let you sit on the ass of your morality and wait it out.
