I will never forget the massive pay disparity that was publicized between David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson for the X-Files reboot. That was fucking offensive given that X-files wouldn't be X-files without Scully. I see it's still happening...
"I'm a big fan of Beyoncé and very excited that she's done a country album. So congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one single. Can't wait to hear the full album!" -Dolly Parton
An ex-boss would make one team member cry every other day and was buddies with two other toxic teammates who also bullied him and previous teammates (who quit before I was hired--I didn't know any of this history). There was screaming and shouting (like "holy shit should we call security?" kind of fighting) and ex-boss would just close her door instead of doing something about it. She tried to frame the one Black team member for something and he eventually quit.
I took copious notes and kept every chat and email containing or reporting inappropriate behavior and reported her ass and other toxic teammates to HR. I even surreptitiously recorded conversations (state law allows this). Because of the field I was in at the time, HR and legal had to get involved. Four people were fired, so at least something good came out of that stupid experience.
Something like "Any particular recommended reading about this topic?" or something more positive that doesn't come off as a "I don't believe you" thing, perhaps
Tweet by Tom Nichols (Twitter account @RadioFreeTom): "I'm tired of hearing how looking down on people for supporting Trump makes them resentful and just forces them to support Trump even more. A shaky argument in 2016, even more hollow in 2020, and ridiculous in 2024. People who support Trump now know what he's selling and want it."
StarTrek (esp. #DS9 and #LowerDecks, NO GATEKEEPING), #FFXIV, I prefer consuming news with a good dose of snark. #Politics out of necessity. #SCIENCE! (She/Her)Jobu Tupaki for president!
