@aral@BackFromTheDud@kibcol1049 No you can't. By definition, an intelligent dishwasher is one with artificial intelligence...no matter how primitive. You can have an intelligent dishwasher without LLMs. Simple speech/gesture recognition would improve the usability for the handicapped but voice recognition of simple commands needs the internet or a hell of a lot of memory. I run several AI tasks on a RP2040 including gesture recognition.
@elfin@cindyweinstein Half of the gun owners are liberal. The difference is that the 10% of gun owners that own more guns than there are people in the country are 2A nutz.
I think that after a few more years of three or four Helene or Sandy a year, we are going to see an exodus from the eastern and southern coastal states...long before sea level rise. I expect that it will be the loss of jobs because insurance costs and storm related outages will be the driver. Low margin insurances will pull out of the states affected by Helene. So, insurance costs will go through the roof. People moving out because of growing tired of rebuilding and no longer being able to own homeowner's insurance will be a close second.
@LALegault@KarenStrickholm@bmacDonald94 The pagers that exploded were imported exclusively for Hezbollah from a Hungarian company. This girl had to have received the pager from Hezbollah.
@andytiedye@Dave_Goldsmith@Tharpa@Urban_Hermit@glennsills@cynblogger@Nazani@stevebenen Trump represented a useful idiot to Putin. Before the handwriting was on the wall, Putin saw that TFG was going to lose. That is why the prisoner exchanged happened. Otherwise, negotiations would have continued until Putin was sure TFG was not going to be re-elected because he knows he has enough dirt on TFG that all he had to do is ask for the prisoners and they would have been on the next plane...without releasing any of his own.
@WrenArcher@unabogie@freemo@Burnt_Veggies@CoachMark@kamalaharrisforpresidentnews FL, TX, and TN all could be in play...if enough women, minorities, and young people register and vote. I believe that the LGBTQ+ numbers are much higher than are assumed. I think the whole age spectrum matches the 20+% of the under 25. I think the rest of the age groups are still in the closet.
To show how much things have changed, they are calling the almost 60 yo candidate...young. I remember how upset I got when I was 60 and the Trib had the story "Elderly Woman Hit by METRA" ...she was 60.
@BeAware Hell, few of the psychiatrists get that there's a sweet spot. IMHO. They should ramp up the dose until you get anxiety and then back it off until ADHD returns and set the dose halfway in between. My SIL got on a new med for something and had to get off of her ADHD medicine. She realized she was taking way too much because she felt better with none. Her doctor had been ramping up the dose to make it work better. I can't take the stimulants any more because I suffer from tachycardia. So, I'm on Stratera but we've been diddling with the time of day to take it. I take it in the morning and I spend the afternoon being drowsy. I take it at bedtime and it keeps me up. I'm having a hell of a time remembering to take it around 4PM. I'm going to dig out one of those daily pill things and set a reminder on my phone.
@baldur Let me make it clear that when used properly, AI can make things easier and more productive. The current fad, bubble, or whatever you call it has a bunch of folks taking an AI that is still at the toy stage and trying to make it fit everything. It reminds me of the Caffeine Free 7UP ads a few years back, which today would be replaced by Gluten Free 7UP or Lactose Free 7UP. Product developers view AI as a sales tool and add to things that have no business having it.
@br00t4c The hell with Medicare for all...VA for all. My wife is still on commercial insurance. I am on the VA. I get appointments faster. I have more caring physicians (mainly because they're not forced to a 10 minute visit window or something). I pay for nothing but $5 a prescription...whether it is one dose or 90 days. My average wait to see a specialist is less than two weeks. My wife's is typically two months. And, her hospital system has one of the highest USNWR ratings.
