    #ActuallyAutistic
I have a cold. Late night cruising the internet while I cough too frequently to sleep.

    https://www.psypost.org/new-study-ai-can-identify-autism-from-tiny-hand-motion-patterns/

The interesting part of this study is that it proposes that autistic brains process coordination differently. Which confirms my own self observations.

The sad thing is that they define autistics by the things they find difficult and mention none of the advantages.

It is called a neuro-divergence because it is different, but not necessarily net negative.

    @futurebird @lnlyisol agreed with this 100%.

Another effect, due to search trying to find you the most commonly accepted information, and publishers trying to meet that demand, the internet these days is a vast, shallow sea of entry level introductory information, repeated thousands of times over, with mid level and higher understandings frustratingly out of reach.

Like everything is the first month and a half of an introductory course. Sometimes YouTube can get you another month and a half.

Ironically, if Trump was finally convicted and sent to prison for his many, many crimes...including the new ones he is committing in office, no court in America would send him to be lost in a foreign torture camp.

(As much as we might want to.)

@Ehay2k i know you are kidding, but...

GITMO should have been shut down by Obama, it would have been better if SCOTUS had found it illegal. We have lots of murderers and terrorists already convicted and safely serving time in the United States.

GITMO was never about safety, it was all about trying to deny judicial review in the US. It largely brought us to this problem now. Conservatives love slippery slopes, expanding loopholes, normalizing atrocities.

Cruel and incompetent is one of the worst combinations.

It is the unpredictability that makes it worse...

What's the worst thing President Trump can do?

Well he has already raped some people, and probably a child. And he seems to have defrauded all of his business partners.

No, as President what is the worst thing he can do?

Well, he seems to want to start wars if he doesn't get Canada, Greenland, Panama... he will probably crash the economy... some old people have probably already been killed because of delays in their Medicare...

What is the worst crime that only a president can do?

Have people arrested, imprisoned, deny them a trial?

Ding, ding, ding, ding. Bingo. It is called violating Habeas Corpus. It is the clear difference between authoritarian dictators that rule by fear alone, and a democratic government that rules by law. He has purposely denied people due process, and is actively trying to deny jurisdiction to any judge who wants to review such detention.

It is the worst crime that a president can do, and he has done it in less 90 days.

    Habeas Corpus.

    Hey!

Donald Trump has clearly violated Habeas Corpus.

Donald Trump argued before the Supreme Court that the President has to have absolute immunity because the President has to do illegal things. And then almost as fast as he could he has had people detained and shipped off to a foreign prison to prevent them from having their detention review by a judge.

    Clear violation of Habeas Corpus.

An illegal order by an illegal President, who clearly violates the law.

You can tell there is a fundamental difference between the style of Democratic vs Conservative messaging because they have talked for 3 decades or longer about the "gay agenda" like it is a big menace, instead of queer people just trying to be left alone...

Yet the Democrats never talked about "the bigot agenda" in the same way.

Well now the hate mongers have escalated. It is time to talk about "THE BIGOT AGENDA"!!

@sillyCoelophysis I think there are lots of kids who had a difficult time, like we all did, but then the person who was finally kind to them was a bigot of some sort and was only being kind to groom them with their bigoted ideas. At some point you have to take responsibility and overcome the propaganda of our childhood, but I am sure it is hard to overcome cult programming.

@quixote @Lurkle then states need to arrest people on kidnappings charges.

I am serious - you want to resist, then get your state to resist. Protesting the feds won't do nothing, get your local elected officials and law enforcement motivated. If they all will get pardoned from federal charges, get state charges brought against them.

The battle over human rights is largely a legal battle. Get them in courts that are not corrupted yet.

Let's show these Nazi's what states' rights really mean.

First they denied all rights to illegal immigrants, and deported them directly to jails outside the US with no due process. For a civil crime.

Now they have denied legal immigrants the right to free speech and are stealing them off the streets.

Soon they will deny the citizenship of anyone who is criticizing this government. And deport them to overseas jails, where they will not get trials and will not be heard from again.

Because it is working. And they are escalating so fast.

@Finitum @randahl I heard today, on NPR, that they already delivered the bullet proof cars BEFORE the visit was changed.

The Trump administration is amateur hour. The Danes sounded absolutely flummoxed that foreign dignitaries of the level of vice president would travel to the territory of a foreign country and tour around without arranging it with that country's government. Letting the Weirds tour a base was the diplomatic alternative to expelling them or denying them landing rights.

    @noelreports huge contrast.

Ukraine tries to strike an oil refinery one day, an airfield the next, at night, when those places are least staffed. They try to strike the machinery of war, but not the people.

Putin's Russia strikes apartment buildings, at night, when people are most likely trying to rest. Because he is waging a war against individual people. Every baby killed is a victory to a monster who wants to wear people down, so the survivors cower.

    May Putin die burning alive.

@madkiwi @BenBen @GossiTheDog things are exactly as bad as they sound at first glance. They are not subtle. They are not well thought out. What you hear is not crafted messaging to describe a complicated program.

If it sounds like the head of a criminal enterprise made up a new grift, and henchmen are making up details on the fly so they don't get targeted - that is what it is.

@ArrowbearMoore @GottaLaff most of what Elon owns is a high risk speculation bubble entirely fed by how often he makes headlines. Everything is way over earnings. People are waiting for other billionaires to try to buy him out, to want what he has, so little investors can cash out. But it is a bubble that has grown too big to buy.

You know it is a personality bubble because if Elon died tomorrow the stock would crash AND Tesla would be more likely to make profitable business decisions.

The 2nd Trump administration is going to be as traumatic and divisive to Americans as the Vietnam War.

Its going to be a thing that a lot of history is written about.

Remember everytime you quit a job because the boss was incompetent, made the chaos worse and blamed other people, made you do things that made you look incompetent, and asked clearly inappropriate questions? It is going to be like that, except it is the government, all the time, everywhere, all at once.

    For at least 4 years.

A quote from an article in Wired:

Musk has stated that the Cybertruck’s silhouette was designed to be aggressive. “It is an armored personnel carrier from the future,” wrote Musk in October 2019, and then again in November 2023, and twice this year.

(Commentary) So, ah, why is a future armored personnel carrier a thing you think would be a growth market for rich civilians in America, Mr. Musk?

I'm an oldish autistic, which blessed me with the ability to think clearly and write well. I'm also a secular humanist and I think God is too. Never doubt the power of irony.I boost pictures of animals, plants, structures, landscapes, water (always water, and boats!) but right now it is mostly politics - the threats to everything good can not be underestimated. I would like to go back to writing about obscure kites as soon as the deeply stupid people are out of power. Please help.
