    Ironically, if Trump was finally convicted and sent to prison for his many, many crimes...including the new ones he is committing in office, no court in America would send him to be lost in a foreign torture camp.

    (As much as we might want to.)

      I'm actually not kidding. I agree that GITMO should have been shut down. Obama tried but cowards in Congress wouldn't support him.

      But it's still here and we're paying for it. And conservatives still think it's a great place to put threats to national security. I would include in that group, people who have been given access to the country's most sensitive secrets. So, give 'em what they want!

      @Ehay2k i know you are kidding, but...

      GITMO should have been shut down by Obama, it would have been better if SCOTUS had found it illegal. We have lots of murderers and terrorists already convicted and safely serving time in the United States.

      GITMO was never about safety, it was all about trying to deny judicial review in the US. It largely brought us to this problem now. Conservatives love slippery slopes, expanding loopholes, normalizing atrocities.
