@gamingonlinux Valve's right & the card comparison is apt & relatable. NY's suit looks like a shakedown. At the same time any sports viewing gives you an eyefull of gambling stats/sites, polymarket is somehow legal, the NYSE itself will allow an algorithm to trade a bundled derivative with nominal human involvement but sure put a tamp on people spending a couple bucks to get a game skin. Pay the right lobbyist & all of a sudden anything looks legitimate, maybe valve is playing that game wrong.
@gamingonlinux MS poisoning the well inside the city by killing Win10 support & throwing AI into everything & I don't know if it'd necessarily need to be on the inside of the horse at this point. Just come on right in.
@randahl is the US still spending >$1mil USD to charter the plane required for their bulletproof cars as cargo? Is that efficient use of taxpayers money? Wasteful?
@benroyce they did this a few years ago too, probably war gaming that at a point the rest of the world will have had enough of their bullshit on the internet to just cut them off entirely. How many elections do you let them fuck with before enough is enough? How much money laundering, spam, scams, sock puppet FUD has to come out of there before the world drops the banhammer? https://www.vice.com/en/article/russia-is-preparing-to-cut-itself-off-from-the-global-internet/
@peterfr@pluralistic These two assholes' keep complaining about 'unelected bureaucrats making policy decisions' when they are seeking to become bureaucrats making policy decisions that were never elected to anything.
