@mekkaokereke @Makyris this is the thing I have a hard time articulating when I get frustrated with people yelling "non-voters really screwed us this time!"

When your choices are:
-Vote against your own interest
-Vote against your own interest, but harder
-Vote in your interest, but know your candidate will lose

If you want to win a political race, you have to actually oppose your opponent. Being a watered down, respectable version of them is a terrible way to show you're different, mainly because it doesn't show that.

Hey @mmasnick! Just wanted to say it's good to see you're on the bsky board. I've been reading Techdirt for years (receipt: I once submitted a story about Jack Thompson, Asshole Lawyer that y'all have me a HT for. The good old days...)

You and the others on Techdirt have thoughtful, sensible viewpoints, and I trust your intentions, at the very least.

Hoping the Fedi can come through in a rough time. I am trans and going thru a divorce with a transphobic spouse. I need a lawyer that is an effective advocate for a trans person. I don't need financial help, just a better way to find the right lawyer.

I have checked with 10+ orgs that provide resources to LGBTQ folks, such as WPATH and A4TE, with no luck.

I have requests for referrals out to a couple orgs, including my (US) state's Bar. No response from either, yet.
