Remember people, the practice of tipping the help is so that their employer can charge less for whatever they are providing. The tip means the employer, often a restaurant, charges less for the food and makes paying a fair wage for the waiter at the option of the waiter.

Tipping is an unfair system. And before I hear any crap about it making the service better, I've been to places where you never tip, and the service is just as good.

@blogdiva @brettcannon One of the Project 2025 things, and one of the things that Trump has been going on about lately is a sovereign wealth fund. It appears to me that such a fund would come from taxpayers' money and would mostly be a political slush fund. The administration could spend the money however they want, and of course, all the big tech companies are going to want some of that "investment" money.

Google's "don't do evil" motto has changed to "meh, it's just bidness".

@heidilifeldman What the SCOTUS has done is left them room to operate in an *entirely* partisan way. If Trump or any Republican needs immunity in the future, then Presidents have immunity. If Biden or any Democrat needs immunity the partisan justices on the court have room to rule that Presidents do not have immunity. They have set things up where the SCOTUS is the arbiter of what is and isn't an official act.

@spaf Nah man you *say* that "1 crypto coin == 1637 tulips" but that depends on how many idiots are willing to buy tulips at the moment you want to buy something with your crypto. Sometimes the idiots get spooks and the price of tulips go way down an a crypto coin might be worth 1 million tulips.but when Musk posts something pro-tulip on x/twitter, the ratio might be 100 crypto coins = 1 tulip. So the value of a crypto coin is dependent on level of trading by idiots at any particular moment.
