whew! Story time! I had the bright idea of swapping out a 240V 20A outlet from an L6-20r twist lock receptacle to a standard 6-20 receptacle, and accidentally turned ON the power instead of turning it OFF(since it was already off), and while swapping the wires to the new outlet, I shorted the one of the hots to ground. It blew the screwdriver out of my hand and it split the flathead tip in half! I just stood there in shock (SHOCK!) with the two outlets dangling and my pliers holding the hot wire in my other hand staring at what just happened realizing I just danced with death again.

So this is your regular PSA reminder to always check for current, TURN THAT EFFING CIRCUIT OFF AND CONFIRM IT IS OFF WITH A MULTIMETER, for the love of all that's holy wear those 5 -7mil black latex gloves and stand on rubber matting; coz I have to imagine that may have just saved my life.

Wow ok, so this just happened. I Grabbed my coffee and went out and I opened my garage door this morning.

I see a black bear walking up my driveway, not even phased by the noise of the garage door.

He sees me, stops, sits. He's maybe half a car Length away from the entry and I'm about 5 feet into my garage so there's maybe 20 ft between us.

we stared at each other for what felt like an eternity. Was maybe like 10-15 seconds but my heart was racing, the hair on my neck raised.

In my head I already mapped I was maybe 4 steps away from my machete hanging right behind me on the wall if this goes down.

The bear rubbed his nose with his paw, looked around. I said loudly 'hey buddy!'

It got up, took 2 slow steps towards me, it's head bobbing up and down, and then stopped, turned around and continued down the road.

I closed the garage door, came back inside. I'm a bit shaken - I just faced a black bear!

That's it I'm done engaging with the outside world for today.
