I'm thinking a general strike can be a one-day affair. It should not have to cause trauma to workers. I don't know is it ridiculous to imagine one day a month we shut down the economy?

I guess various presidents have invoked the Insurrection Act dozens of times, usually in the face of rioting, usually for a short-term. I don't think it had any effect on political campaign fund-raising or elections generally (except for during the Civil War!)

Trump could invoke the Insurrection Act like these other presidents did, in the face of real, imagined or provoked (false-flag) rioting w/o effecting political campaign fund-raising, I think.

Why would invoking the Insurrection Act stop fundraising?

What is wrong with people that have billions of dollars, hundreds of billions of dollars and know that there are people, innocent people even children who are starving and dying, and not use their enourmous wealth to save them? Are all billionaires psychopaths?

ICE agents & police need to wear body cams. But they won't because it is understood, even by black and brown ICE agents, that most white civilians are treated with respect.

Trump's vision is post WWII up to the Civil Rights era, a return to his formative year when he was raised by his racist father who also was a big-time scoundrel.

This is insane, predictable and unstoppable. Our best hope are massive non-violent rallies across the country.

There is one thing we can all agree on: Trump is sui generis; he is a unique creature whose demeanor, his words and actions are far outside convention.

As such, it is not being hyperbolic to wonder aloud WTF he is up to right now and if our country's fate is hanging in the balance.

He seems to be employing the ABE (Anything But Epstein) strategy which includes using his private (taxpayer-funded) ICE army to invade cities in Blue States.

Is his recall of generals a prelude to war?

Right on the edge I believe. But I still believe because I believe the majority of Americans hate Trump and see through his ridiculous con that he is always right and any arguments leveled against him are vindictive. It's a stupid stupid argument that the only felon president is telling us that every charge and every conviction was unjust. This the man who wouldn't take the stand in his own defense is really a saint.

Roy Cohn and Jeffrey Epstein define Trump.

Our nation's first felon president is making it a crime to criticize him and has already set loose a private Army of thugs to terrorize brown people in blue cities. He is warning us that he will brook no opposition.

SCOTUS said he could.

It is not hyperbolic to ask if we will ever have a free and fair election in our country again.

This is what we predicted and feared but it's happening so much faster than imagined.

Sucks being the generation that lost our democracy because of pedo ring.

Trump lies like a machine; hard to keep up:

1. Portland is not "war-ravaged", at least not yet.
2. Undocumented immigrants cause less crime than citizens.
3. Trans people are no threat to anyone- they also cause less crime than non- Trans people.
4. Trump creates chaos to exploit the "Shock Doctrine"
5. Trump is a traitor and insurrectionist who supports violence.
6. Everything he is doing now is to stop the release of the Epstein files.
7. The America we knew is gone and may never return.

It feels like we're coming to a crisis moment maybe in weeks not months. It will all depend on SCOTUS. That's not comforting.

The SCOTUS super-majority, unlawfully and unethically comprised, are right- wing ideologies who think they are saving America from socialism.

They prefer a story where America becomes Russia instead of Sweden. Really hard to understand anyone loving money that much.

DOJ will make a deal with Maxwell: she will say Trump knew nothing about Epstein in return for a pardon.

I helped get this Maryland historical marker placed on the 50th anniversary of the Catonsville 9 action next door at the Knights ofColumbus / Draft Board building. After only a few years it's already leaning but since it's leaning left I won't complain.

If you see Trump's crowd sitting in "stony-faced silence" you know that you are dreaming. I'd like to have that dream myself.

I foresee home detention in FL or exile in Moscow.

In detention Trump would be like Napoleon on Elba, plotting a comeback.

They may have to exile him to St. Helena but I prefer a prison wing in a federal penitentiary in the middle of "flyover- country."

Make it a reality show with a periodic surveillance feed as we watch the slow deterioration of his scowl.

I know it's cruel but we have to set an example.

He and his father spent their entire adult lives scamming and conning. It's the only thing he knows. And then Roy Cohn supercharged this negative tendency.

And then against everyone's predictions (including my own) he rode his sociopathy into the presidency. He bent an entire political party to his will.

Or, being a supreme Machiavellian, Trump sees the benefit in lying and having his multiple manifest lies absorbed by the media and by the populous. In other words when he is allowed to spin an imaginary world of lies he can never be held to account for anything. Nothing is real; nothing to resist. We are all living in Trump's dream: Jan 6 was patriotic.

The MSM and SCOTUS enables all of this.

I used to think Hitler was a purely German phenomena.
