If you encounter a troll on Mastodon, please take the time and report them. If you have a bit of extra time, invest a few more minutes to gather more evidence via the trolls profile before reporting them. Make sure that your report gets forwarded to the server where the troll has their account.

Trolls get blocked here on Mastodon, contrary to what you might have experienced on corporate ad networks from Meta, Musk and others.

@mstrohm to be honest, if it's just a troll and not someone actually breaking the rules, one should simply just block.

If they're not rule-breaking, reporting them adds more strain to the moderation teams.

@love_laugh_loco it's only for filling out the information. Since they're both federated, you don't need to "link" them. The way to share posts between them is simply by boosting.

@Flaky 🤷♂️you won't hear anything good about Bluesky from me. To each their own though. I'd rather block 100,000 individual users than go back to corporate social media.

If you block a domain on Mastodon, does that also block even people you follow? Not at the admin level (i.e. fediblock) but rather the user level.

On Bluesky I saw people trying to push its users onto fedi saying to use domain blocks as a solution to the Reply Guy problem that plagues this network, and AFAIK, the user-level domain block is nuclear and Mastodon makes that clear, so I literally cannot do that for some of the instances these lot frequent. (also, good fucking luck blocking mastodon.social lmao)

I think those lot just want people off of the platform they hate while dismissing every concern about the platform they love.
