@the_spc great to hear. I've seen several people I follow move over in the past 2 weeks and it makes me sad that most people just seems to want a corporate overlord who can tell them what to say and how to say it.

#Facts that #Mastodon users always refuse to accept, yet these are true:

#Brave is the best browser and a search engine. No else #browser is better then it. No else search engine. Not even #Firefox or #Chrome .

#iPhone are the best phones with their iOS to exist. And no, Android devices aren't better.

#Bluesky is the best alternative to #Twitter /#X , the one true, DECENTRALIZED (yes, it has its own #ATProtocol ) alternative that we all need.

#ZCash is a better #privacy focused #cryptocurrency then #Monero .

From my interactions with Mastodon users, all of these facts aren't accepted by them at all, they really start to strongly defend their beliefs, starting to talking about either reputation or behavement of a person/company, or either their past actions. Guess what? I don't care about anything of that; I just need a good product that worth to use.

I'll add more to that list, if I'll think of any.

We're currently losing the fight against the corporate hold on social media and it doesn't seem like that'll change anytime soon.

People are actively moving to BlueSky while AP is also undergoing some corporate control through the SWF funding.

The worst part is the feeling that I am powerless because I'm not a programmer nor do I have tons of money to spend like any corporation.

To me, it's all just a big waiting game and from this side, it feels like shit because for AP users, we'd be losing something we had, freedom from corporate control.

BlueSky I feel is a bit different because it's always been corporate control. It's just a matter of when that corporation will decide to make the whole protocol worse for the sake of profit.

Which of course is where the two issues are pretty much the same.😔

I still find it very strange that people leave one corporately owned shitty platform for another.

@solonovamax lol. For sure. I thought the same when I first joined in August, now I got so much time on the server, I'm one of the top playtime in that time period. Lmao.

@solonovamax understandable. There's ways around it if you're REALLY wanting to play.

For example, there's a repo on GitHub for "Zenith proxy" which is software that you run on a server or PC that uses your Minecraft account details and logs you into 2b2t queue and puts your account into anti-afk mode until you decide to login and play, but you'd need another account to connect to the proxy server.

I've never personally ran one, but I hear it's not too difficult, one of my admins made one for our group and it even links up to discord and sends you notifications if someone unknown shows up nearby. That's how we knew we were getting griefed at exactly the moment they showed up.

@solonovamax @the_spc Facts. If you play 2b2t, you have to have the mindset that when you login every day, there could be a crater where your base used to be.

We thought we were relatively safe since it was about 4 million blocks from spawn, but we made several base building "rule" errors that screwed us in the end.

Open portals, trails directly to the base, no portal skips, etc. But we were already moving so it doesn't matter. Just glad we got screenshots and a world download of the area the night it got griefed before they showed up.

I didn't plan on posting these for a long time but a griefing group paid real money for our coords so we moved everything out just before they came in to blow it up. It's gone now.

There's several hate speech griefing groups on the server that use the word anarchy to mean "be an asshole". It doesn't matter though, it was completely empty by the time they blew it up. Apparently they paid money for our coordinates, which makes it even funnier that they bought an empty base. Lmao.

This week on 2b2t:

Melon Men had an admin base for awhile that we've been keeping secret and yesterday, someone "randomly" stumbled upon it. We asked them how they found it and they seemed genuine and peaceful so we let them look around while we moved our stashes out.

About 6 hours later, after everything was millions of blocks away, the Enclave hate speech griefing group swooped in just in time to blow up our 1 shulker of cobblestone that we left behind!😂

Close one, but they actually think they got us, so we'll just let them "win" this time. :kek:

I'll post pics of the builds at Melongrad that my admin team made later today. They are rubble now.

It's quite wild to me how most people here are against any corporately funded social media. Yet I see almost no discussion about the SWF which controls AP and is funded by....corporate social media.

Oh boy. Things have been quite interesting on 2b2t lately.

The Melon Men are now the fastest growing group on the server, which is quite impressive in my opinion, given the server's history of toxicity and Melon Men being a peaceful group.

However, we also have opps. A group known as Enclave have infiltrated our discord a couple of times trying to change all of our stuff to hate speech but failed because our bot doesn't allow that shit.

Then, we just casually had 5th column members join our discord and try to be sneaky by being non-toxic. They're the most notorious and most toxic griefing group on the server.😬

I also feel that something out of the ordinary is going down or will be going down really soon. Lots of old players popping up again recently including some old "Nerds Inc" players which is the group in which the infamous Popbob was a part of.

We can only wait and see if the plot thickens.😅
