I think that after a few more years of three or four Helene or Sandy a year, we are going to see an exodus from the eastern and southern coastal states...long before sea level rise.
I expect that it will be the loss of jobs because insurance costs and storm related outages will be the driver.
Low margin insurances will pull out of the states affected by Helene. So, insurance costs will go through the roof.
People moving out because of growing tired of rebuilding and no longer being able to own homeowner's insurance will be a close second.
