@mekkaokereke @rasmus91 what I love so much is how integral the drumming is to the song. So many drumming videos are just drumming gymnastics. Yes, Jonathan’s drumming is technically incredible but it also fits the song perfectly. Testament to him and also Quincy I’m sure had some influence

@sarahjamielewis some parallels between viable browsers and viable US political parties. Perhaps a bit of a stretch but the two have been pretty top of mind

@inthehands largely agree with your thread here and have dismissed the many MSM calls in the past for Biden not to run. His debate performance really made me wonder tho. Totally agree that it’s still not clear that any actual alternative is better. And totally agree about motivations of most of those promoting idea. Though others on the left have been as well, such as @davidsirota who’s made a compelling case for a contested primary

@thomasfuchs the question comes across as focusing on individuals when these oligopolies seem more like a systemic problem.

@baldur really insightful piece! It’s been pretty obvious that recent layoffs and some of the AI hype has been about labor discipline but I hadn’t thought of how frameworks and technology choices also serve this purpose.

Perhaps also related is how tools like LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor push a certain individualist framing of job market that claims to be about empowering workers but curiously bereft of any labor organizing. Know of any research or analysis on this topic?

It’s amoral. It’s desperate. It’s politically reckless. It’s wrong no matter how you look at it.

@mastodonmigration @mike glad to see the support of getting more content on the fediverse.
That said, it’s disappointing to see the 74 associated with this effort. It’s a pro privatization corporate ed reform rag backed by the DeVos family and other billionaires
