@aud I have a friend pushing the idea of splitting the country in two because of the irreconcilable differences. Besides being politically and logistically impossible, we can't, as you say, write off red states. There will always be large populations in them who will bear the brunt. I don't blame these people for moving or wanting to move out of these places, but they can't all leave (nor should they have to). Moreover, fascists will invent new scapegoats.

Asta [AMP] (aud@fire.asta.lgbt)'s status on Thursday, 07-Nov-2024 08:22:13 JST Asta [AMP] Dunno how to tell you this but the minorities in deep red states, even the ones in groups that "went for Trump" (people are not groups or statistics) are really, really gonna need help. Do not write off the deep red states or the people living in them: not only do those people deserve safety and support and community, but they're unfortunately "the front fucking line" for basically all the white supremacist shit that is thrown around internally.
They already don't get help from the government; they already aren't hired by corporations and companies down there. So if they ask, welp. Let's help them stay safe and build, yeah? That means giving mutual aid, funding, emotional support when they need it, writing recommendation letters, helping with their education (tutoring, financial, emotional, access to resources). Fuck, if they have a business idea, throw some money towards them! I'm not one who cares too much about business stuff normally but you and I both know they're not gonna get that money from banks.
