   Honestly, and this ain't just about today's news, but I think a lot of libs go about this all wrong. You want to "win arguments with fascists" and that presumes you care what fascists say or think; this is your first mistake because you should not care at all. And you do this by pointing out the hypocrisy and unflattering comparisons but this once again presumes fascists have shame. They do not

     You don't argue with fascists; you chase them into the darkness and put the fear of existence itself in them. You're not going to "prove" anything to fascists because if these people could be reasoned with they wouldn't be fascists.

     You want to keep pretending this is "politics" and you're arguing with folks who're literally about eliminationism and committing violence against people who don't agree with their nazi bullshit

     There is never going to be a moment where they understand you're right

     @AnarchoNinaWrites Seems like we do want to win over many who vote for fascists or fascist enablers. That doesn't negate your point about not trying to win arguments with fascists.

     I see no point in arguing with fascists in the hope of convincing them. I do, however, sometimes take issue with what they say lest others who may be susceptible be taken in by their propaganda.

     @dgodon Appeasement doesn't work. People who vote for fascists, are fascists. People who enable fascists, are fascists. If you're serious about stopping them, then you should focus your time and energy on people who aren't fascists. I dunno what else to say.

     @AnarchoNinaWrites apologies for the royal "we". I want the left to win and gain power. Stomping fascists by gaining power - at fascist's expense - and putting in place systems that prevent people from becoming fascists and sway some who are or have sympathies (and disempowering the rest) is what I have in mind.
