@pete @daihard @ascentale @meganL @ai6yr @Brownian_motion I also feel this is an issue only for setups with more than 7-8 cogs in the back. With a 3x7 you simply do not get much deflection and when I had a 2x5 there was effectively minimal deflection.

The issue was as always: Popular vote does not always equivalate to electoral votes.

@notjustbikes Sadly while I like Strongtowns for what they are, Chuck's politics that he is running on are not great and present as stock conservative horse hocky with no recognition of LGBTQ+ people and non heterosexual relationships.

Plus his podcast is great except then he did the episode for conservatives and lied about the left over and over, as if that is the only way to talk to US Conservatives.

And the majority, ideally, is whatever segment of the population that wins a given election by voting. The minority there is just what ever group was not the majority of voters, not a ethnic, religious, cultural, or gender/sex minority automatically.

I think you are being dishonest.
