Okay, I've been trying to not freak out about the growing electricity demand by data centers, but this new Georgia, USA forecast is just fucking insane!

There are plans for 69 data centers with an average of about 450 MW.

I really think that they should be required to provide their own clean electricity. They're going to double the size of the grid almost just by themselves from 16 to over 31 GW in less than ten years!

It is projected that global energy storage cell shipments will reach 270 GWh in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 37%.

Good way of putting it. I don't know and I'm not trying to be a Trump-whisperer, but I'm not so sure that a populist like him will follow through with the tariffs after/if he accepts that they're going to be unpopular.

I don't know though. His true goals may be more nefarious than I'm willing to acknowledge perhaps.

I won't be surprised if there are no new tariffs during the next administration personally.

He'll probably run into a few issues and then move onto some new project towards trying to dominate the news cycles I suspect.

Jack has room to criticize that post of mine to be honest except what I was suggesting was not to make the people already concerned about climate change so fearful that they shut down and stop trying like the doomers do.

What I was thinking about was to pay to put accurate climate messaging into the rightwing information bubbles I suppose.

Regardless, my post was probably ill-conceived reflecting my post-election coping or something.

At least if the #J6 insurrectionists that have been able to so far avoid justice because the biggest crime in American history swamped our law enforcement resources gets pardoned at least us in decent society will find out their names so that we can punish them by shunning them from polite society.
