@ascentale@daihard A8 #BikeNite I think unless your rides are particularly gnarly/muddy, you’ll be fine with them. Perhaps just drop a little pressure in the winter/if it’s slippy as for any tyre. FWIW, I’m running Vittoria Mezcals (650b 2.1”) all year round on my gravel bike, and Panaracer GravelKing SKs (700x38mm) on my less gravelly gravel bike. For group road rides I’d go with something speedier, but for mixed terrain group or solo rides these do me nicely.
@ascentale@MartyCormack A8 #BikeNite I don't think I'd ever visit somewhere because of infrastructure and indeed the bike is perhaps the best vehicle for travelling/exploring where there's none. So I'm gonna say Scotland simple due to its 'Right to Roam' under the Land Reform Act 2003. Compare and contrast: I was trespassing when I took one of these snaps as I was in England, whereas the other a few km north in Scotland is fully acceptable.
@daihard@ascentale@meganL@ai6yr@Brownian_motion A8 Cross-chaining ain’t such a no-no these days: I recall Campag using a picture of very obviously cross-chained rider in a catalogue, and I think SRAM near actively encourage it. It it sounds or feels bad though, usually as a result of old components or a chain in need of lube, I’ll avoid.
In the run up to the election I had been thinking I’d pull an an emotional, gleeful, and frankly gloating all-nighter in front of the telly, but this week has wiped me out. I’m delighted by the demise of the nasty party, concerned by the rise of a nastier one, but right here, right now I’m just happy to be out of hospital. Night all, you did good! ✊
Got a 'proper' ride in today having taken it easy all week. Shortish, but with a bit of climbing and some tough-to-ride sections too. #cycling#gravel#cumbria
Disappointed that #kendalMountainFestival are allowing the Shell-sponsored British Cycling to present the cycle night this year. Won’t be going. #greenWashing
