I'm appealing and gave them the links to the exact song I used in the appeal, but they still rejected it. The decision came so fast that I'm sure they didn't check the info I provided, so I don't want to stay there.

Any Peertube instance recommendations?

I made an intro video for myself as an ESL (Eng 2d Lang) teacher. Taught myself how to do basic video editing and added royalty free background music. Posted to YouTube, who, of course, says it's a copyright violation. I'd rather post on PT anyway, but need to set up an account.

Eventually, I may turn this into an ESL dedicated account.

Nonprofits are part of the public sector. Mozilla foundation is a nonprofit. Mozilla corporation, which is for-profit, controls Firefox.

That may sound strange, but it's to work around tax laws. If Firefox had a really good year, they must use or give away nearly all the money they've accrued if it's a nonprofit. As a for-profit, they can establish cash reserves.

I don't agree with staggering CEO pay. I merely say that we should fight the corruption's source and not a mere effect

This is true yet we can still be irritated by this. But, railing against Mozilla doesn't fix the problem. The problem is capitulating to authoritarian thinking, which capitalism propagandizes is into doing.

The necessity of ungodly CEO pay is a scam. Condemning the public sector only further divides us. Save your wrath for the true enemies. Fight capitalism.

Atheism is only a response to the proposition of a deity's existence.

Being unconvinced of a deity doesn't require other beliefs. I know atheists who believe in crystals, chi energy, spirits, etc.

In our culture, the answers for questions like why are there so many animals, or how did the universe begin are often answered by scientific fields w\o religious explanations, but that doesn't mean an atheist must accept those explanations, as my crystal friends show.

As far as that goes, there were many wandering preachers then, and Yeshua was a common name. There's no reason that the stories of many of these preachers couldn't have been cobbled together with embellishments that grow with time.

Just like the different iterations of Batman offer the years.

If free speech means anything, it's the ability to criticize authorities, whether governmental, religious, or social. Don't like it? Authorities should either defend their decisions or don't be douches.

Onus Probandi: burden of proof lies with the one making the claim. We aren't obliged to accept the claim of a god's existence w\o proof.

Remember that claim comes with baggage: more religious claims & requirements. Nobody has a right to demand we change our lives to accept a deity we've no reason to believe exists.

That which can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

A great piece that also points out a consistent failing: don't let conservatives keep changing the subject. That's their fire hose of BS tactic.

You may have to remind a conservative that conversations can only happen when civil and that it's rude to continuously ignore your interlocutor's question, and that, to maintain any credibility, he needs to answer the question.

In my experience, conservatives will get mad and leave rather than answer honestly.

Facts. People are allowed their own opinions, not their own facts. It's ok to say that something isn't true, esp when you can provide a link\cite\ evidence.

If they go off on conspiracies, request them to provide facts and dismantle them, but one at a time. You can require them to acknowledge a disproved fact before continuing, otherwise they are simply delusional & there's no point continuing.

Focus, Facts, Space, & Questions.

First, remember that tone is often misinterpreted with text. Review what you write b4 posting, imagine how it could be misread, & adjust.

Focus on one issue. The bamboozled will switch topics as a defense mechanism when you begin to show their ideas are bad. MAGA deflect as a technique to dominate. Refuse to deviate, if for no other reason than to drive MAGA insane, but also to focus on reality.

Space cont'd. Make up an excuse to step away from the conversation temporarily, if needed, to give the other person time to calm down. Don't be afraid to apologize & restate a comment that was misinterpreted.

Questions. Learn to focus on using questions. Ask the other person to explain what they mean, or why X is important, or why they believe Y is true. (Seek first to understand, then to be understood).

Let's Assume It's True is a good technique. Assume the claim is true, then follow its logic until it disproves itself. Beau of the 5th Column on YouTube is great at this.

Space. Control the space. If additional people are commenting, it's ok to ask them to refrain to keep a calmer, less confrontational conversation. (You may want to ask them through private message, at your discretion.)
