   This is literally a post about racist cop city, and how corporations have captured the local Atlanta government who are in turn using authoritarian, not even remotely legal tactics to brutalize protestors - most of whom are African Americans, LGBTQ people, and environmental activists btw.      Shortly after that, the sever's official blog, posted an updated code of conduct that concerned me, not so much because of the conduct, but because of how quickly it went to deletions and bans unless one complied immediately. I am kind of mousey with my friends and I really was tight with the original admin, they seem like a nice person maybe in over their head, so I just subtweeted about it and ignored it at the time - this will come up later tho, so it's important:

     Then, things started to get weird. What feels like about a month ago, the admin, who is objectively overworked to be fair, and can't have been helped in that by the constant stream of people seeking to get me kicked offline, above, expanded the mod/admin team until it ultimately looked like this:

     Yes, that's 2 admins and 5 moderators; so 7 moderators for a very tiny server. No, I do not at all understand why anyone thought that was a good idea. But let's continue...

     So, I pulled the admin who'd originally invited me aside, and expressed that I didn't know these people, and I have SOME concerns. These were not serious, but it looks a bit much to me, and I expect to be hassled more that I had been, by folks I don't really know. I was assure that it wouldn't be a problem, many of the mods were fans of my work, they were here specifically to help protect me and a few others, and ease the work load on again, my swamped admin, now friend. I said "okay."

     Alright, let's do a time jump the distant past of, umm, 10 weeks ago. When I first joined oliphant.social, it had one admin, and one mod; and I did so after having been invited by the person who owns/runs the server personally, specifically to protect ME from weaponized reports, fascists, angry bougies, and the sort of folks who want me chased offline.

     I cannot stress this enough; it had 1 admin, 1 mod, and I was invited specifically to thwart social networking attacks. I accepted.

     And for a while, about 6 weeks, things worked more or less fine that way - one admin, one mod, and folks who had my back against the endless torrent of people who think I'm mouthy and need to be punished, or dangerous and need to be silenced. It went so well, that after consulting with the admin, I started to return to microblogging. I expressed that I was only doing this because I felt comfortable my work would not be maliciously deleted, on oliphant.social. Ironic, I know. I even donated $.

     Now, you might be thinking there's some backstory here, and let me tell you there sure is; specifically about why I migrated to Oliphant in the first place, what I was promised, what changed, and two very strange enforcement actions that TIPPED ME OFF, this was coming; which is why I was being a big mopey Friday - my instinct told me it was coming. After I grab a smoke we'll get into the parts of it that I know.

     Okay so now you might be saying; yeah but you don't KNOW it was personal Nina. To which I say, yes, I do. But to prove it I have to hurt someone. And I hate that. Given that my name is on the line however, I will do that now. That this is EXTREMELY personal power tripping, was confirmed by a DM from the OTHER Admin. I have redacted much of it because it's either administrative stuff that's nobody's business (not even mine) or PERSONAL and irrelevant real world information. But here's the key bit

     Look, I hate posting that part too; it's still TOO personal, but given that my name is in the street, and two folks with power on that server, who do not seem to like me are subtweeting things like "the curators are taking over" and "you can go in the bin with other bigots" I had to clear my name; which is again, in the street.

     Never put my name in the street, if you don't want to me come for you when I clear it.

     If free speech means anything, it's the ability to criticize authorities, whether governmental, religious, or social. Don't like it? Authorities should either defend their decisions or don't be douches.
