@gnutelephony @abolitionmedia A lot of people 'assume' whatever is going on wouldn't be going on if it weren't ok --if it's the cops doing it. Especially if the cops mostly only do it to people who feel like others.
We really need to get all those people in contact with at least one person, on a regular basis, who gives af about reality and humanity.
It takes a lot of little efforts, but that's probably more sustainable for the long haul than relying on one charismatic leader or fearless group to win all the battles.
I'm scared AF about stuff like this and have no idea where to start.
I already have a small network of people who, like me, have a small network.
I think I have to start there.
I'm literally just making this up as I learn and go.

@swelljoe i think, rewarding corporate asshats for promoting hate is a really bad idea. I think enabling passive cooperation with Nazis is evil.
If people using destructive products refuse to stop, that doesn't mean i should encourage them to keep doing that.
If my instance doesn't take an ongoing, active stance in preventing abuse by known malicious corporations, it's a shitty instance and I should find another who refuses to be complicit in abuse.

I would love a list of servers who have activated authorized fetch, because ultimately *not* being associated with facebook, twitter etc is more important to me than making it easier for people with friends still using those services to see those posts.
#AuthorizedFetch exists and if it means paying my instance every month to be part of something I can feel good about as opposed to feeling like I am complicit in the crimes commited by facebook and twitter, I would happily do that.

And once we abandon it, we can sort our communities out, as best we are able. But we can't realize this for everyone. We need to show them what a cooperative, noncoersive, mutually assistive community looks like. In person. For real.
It won't be the same since it will need to exist within a capitalist regime *at first*
But it can make a world of difference to the people suffering most, and the most vulnerable. And it's not convenient, not a way to save money for retirement..
So, it's a big ask in a world as harsh as this.
I mean, I would love to find a group of irl people to start trying out ideas with, but starting a group myself?

As long as we tolerate #capitalism, we are complicit in its murders and enslavery. We bring death and destruction to vulnerable people, in exchange for our convenience and access to distant resources we otherwise would not be entitled to.
We fund dictatorships and wars. We make Elon Musk rich, and we make people all around the world suffer. We earn the hatred of people who will live worse lives because we like our little comforts.
The death and rape and pillaging of capitalism can only be stopped by we who have other options, but still choose to work for, shop from, and idolize #capitalists
We make global death and destruction profitable.
Without our support, it will finally end.

But it's hard, we are trained not to trust each other, and I feel trapped by our own financial insecurity, even tho we are relatively secure. i know everything can be taken from us quickly and we too will be lining up or scrounging bins for leftovers.
It's a scary world, and it's made that way on purpose.
I can't abide a system that rewards evil and makes murder and destruction a profitable venture.
So, i gotta take the leap.
And i am scared.

So i turn on the tv and Netflix some k-drama and try to forget shit is so bad.

In Australia, it was the coke sugar lobby who sued a doctor for advising patients to feed toddlers real food instead of corporate sugar-laden garbage

We kill it by participating as little as necessary for survival, and form communities that eschew profit taking and instead focus on mutual systems of exchange and assistance.
We are humans because we cooperate and share. Capitalism is 100% inhuman.
