Are there any other options besides Signal? Preferably libre software. Nothing against Signal, it just shouldn't be what *seems* to be the *only* best option.
So to defend against the deplorable American Nationalist Socialist people who've hijacked our country through legal trickery and too much wealth and outright villainy to hurt as many as they can, some people who've been against guns think getting guns may be *the* solution. No. It is only *one* solution of many. Knowing how they work and to take them apart and using them for hunting for food can help.
Best advice I had from the best boss I ever had was: Save everything. Every email, every letter, every post k-it note. Never volunteer for anything. Make sure your job is spelled out and nothing gets quietly added (got monumentally screwed on the last part when they refused to fill back necessary full time positions).
A post-it note signed by the person who was trying to get me into trouble for doing what they specifically asked me to do worked wonders.
My spouse and her groups are all moving to Bsky. Couldn't get them to understand Mastodon or the fediverse and everyone they know jumped to bluesky because it seemed more familiar and most people they already knew were on it. There doesn't seem to be an equivalent to the "marketplace" there though, one of the main things they use it for.
Last century, I remember when IMDB just took all the movie loving user generated data and became a for profit company. I was very worried about that happening to OpenStreetMap when they introduced the database license so stopped contributing. Glad it hasn't happened yet. Hope it won't.

I am reading about #StarTrekDay on my mobile smart phone which evolved from the first cell phones which came from the first prototype that was inspired by the original series of Star Trek.
Many things to admire and aspire to in this fictional series.
Don't tell me stories and the humanities and social sciences aren't important.
Now past the DS9 "Bell Riots" dates, let's avoid the worldwide physically destructive parts, ok?
Get rid of every law that says mandatory use of bicycle lanes and bicycle paths. I have seen too many debris filled paths and glass filled lanes. Enforcement always says they're usable.
Make all paths and lanes connected with safety features at intersections when they're built, not after "right hook" deaths.
Apply presumed liability to faster and larger vehicles.
Make roads and paths a choice instead of either/or.
Don't forget the problem is misuse of cars and trucks.
A Minneapolis police officer shot a rubber bullet into freelance photojournalist Linda Tirado's eye, leading to loss of use of that eye and brain damage causing her to slowly die and have to enter hospice care. She is the recipient of the National Press Club's 2020 domestic John Aubuchon Press Freedom Award.
While the gas tanks looked odd, the size of the submarine was large enough to stave off most predators with its camouflage. The side viewport provided great views of the deep, navigation handled deftly through the front "eyes".
The funding had come through multiple Venture Capitalists. Certainly not shell companies and disguised charities. The VCs often deserved their disappointment.
The attack was soon. They believed their ancestors Nemo would be proud.
