These are foundational legal matters. The Illinois complaint does a great job of explaining. I will synopsize. First, the sovereignty of the states. The 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution: โThe powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.โ https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/tenth_amendment 6/
Sorry I haven't been around much, my brain has the blahs. Love you friends, especially #Monsterdon & #CultOfRamenCatholicism & people who share cool pics.
@TazPoltorak yes, we'll have a snack room with a bunch of those awesome Japanese vending machines. Please go rip off a billionaire to help fund this project. #FleeceTheRich
"You can interact with this technology and it's just like a real person!"
* fake nice for no practical reason * unwilling to admit when they just don't know * wasting time with social graces and frippery * using flattery to hide incompetence or laziness * fake enthusiasm because they want to be liked * lies
... yeah. I guess I can't say that claim is untrue.
@SrRochardBunson thank you for that. I've seen change, too. Progress is sinfully slow, and certain people are trying to undo everything that we've achieved since before I was even born.
@lianna being a child raised in a "patriotic" quasi-cult makes you believe a lot of crazy shit. I had to get out before I could unpack everything I was taught, & even after I did I was still subject to financial control thanks to how student loans work in this country. And I had a lot of shit to unpack; my "love of country" came after "dealing with my trauma" and "learning basic life skills" and "escaping that crazy cult shit."
@kirbyderg I, too, remember thinking that society was just gonna keep getting better. I can only hope that we can survive a few more years of this, then hope some reasonable people gain power.
yoinked from corporate social media, the poster claiming that piles of these things are under every ATM (known in #Canada as a โbank machine,โ where I have never not ever seen a flosser.) Is this symbolic convergence of #flosstodon with late capitalism a uniquely American thing? #usa
