csolisr (csolisr@hub.azkware.net)'s status on Monday, 12-Aug-2024 11:05:58 JST csolisr Silly me is cross-posting my #Fediverse messages to a public #Facebook page (because posting to my private account is no longer possible via API). Now some unspecified post of mine was hidden there due to "violating community guidelines" (the heck will I know which one) and got my public page demonetized (I was getting a total of zero cents from there anyways). No wonder why I've been self-hosting my own presence for years, imagine a professional at the mercy of the algorithm. -

Viennese German is sometimes considered as a dialect of Bavarian, not of German, for this reason. bar.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weanari… -

csolisr (csolisr@hub.azkware.net)'s status on Sunday, 23-Jun-2024 11:54:57 JST csolisr @mattblaze My main complaint with blocks is that it makes making amends impossible. You can't contact the blocker to know what did you do wrong, you lose access to potentially important information irrevocably, and it ends up being a lifelong stain on your reputation (you must have done something unforgivable to be permabanned from somebody's feed). And don't get me started with recursive bans! -

"Her purse? Italian. Her dress? Italian. Her lip gloss? It's actually pizza grease, so technically also Italian"

Unfortunately that's one of the main reasons why computing moved away from floppy disks, because CDs and pendrives were much more resistant to careless handling. -

csolisr (csolisr@hub.azkware.net)'s status on Friday, 22-Mar-2024 15:31:59 JST csolisr @linux_mclinuxface @ThunderComplex From what I read in the documentation, the multithreading in #KeyDB needs to be manually opted in via the configuration file - precisely to make the default installation as much of a drop-in replacement as possible. Hopefully it's still the case!
