@vernissage Congrats on the release! We should discuss location federation, we are working on a FEP, and would love you to co-author it if you are interested ❤️

Developers Wanted.

Introducing our new Developer API website 🥳

🚨 We just shipped v0.15.0, with breaking changes, make sure you read the update guide!

Updated and Better Than Ever. Download our new iOS app on the App Store!

Yes, we are still waiting for Apple to approve our new iOS app (after like 6 rejections).

Instead of wasting this idle time, we redesigned FediDB, updated the backend, and made it a federated wiki that you can login to with your fediverse account, and help update apps, software and even servers!

If you joined our TestFlight, update to the latest version, we fixed a few things ✨

A new app for a new era :pixelfed:

#pixelfed #comeOn

We are dropping support for PHP 8.3, and our next version will require 8.4 or greater!

Admins, please make sure you update your PHP version before the next release if you are still on 8.3.

Thank you for your feedback!

We have chosen the second photo.

Before vs After

#pixelfed #pixelfedApp #marketing

We're working on new App Store and Play Store marketing photos, and need your help to decide which we should use.

We will comment "Use first photo" and "Use second photo" and the comment with the most likes will win.

Please share to boost the reach! We need your feedback ❤️

Pixelfed for iOS is still in the App Review process (we pulled our submission so we can ship a bunch of improvements)

That being said, if you want to try the new Pixelfed for iOS app out now, join the TestFlight!

Pixelfed Stories are pretty amazing!

You can even see who viewed your Story, including from remote accounts.

This isn't a new feature, you can use it right now!

We are making major improvements to make it easier to use, and to allow larger and higher resolution videos!

Stay tuned 🤘

We are preparing a new app release with all of your feedback, including:

- media aspect ratio fixes
- moving compose to the bottom tabs
- upload from camera roll without having to enable camera permissions
- fixed font scaling
- fix video playback not being paused after navigation
- add bookmark button

and more!

Pixelfed is funded by people like you.

We could have taken VC funding, but we both know that would ruin everything we stand for!

So we kindly ask: can you help sustain our mission to keep Pixelfed independent?

No ads. No tracking. No investors. Just us and you.

Can't donate? A boost helps too 💜

Social media has changed a lot since we started Pixelfed.

So have we.

Close Friends, Group Chats and Stories are how people share today, and we're bringing them to the fediverse.

One more thing.

We're building them alongside new privacy and safety tools, like comment controls and interaction policies. Because a community only thrives when it's safe.

We put it in writing. Our Digital Charter of Rights: https://respectfulplatforms.org

We can do better. And we are.

You can Follow Hashtags, that isn't new.

But now you can easily browse followed hashtag feeds!

Settings -> Content Preferences -> Followed hashtag feed

Enjoy 😉

Yes, you can share photos or a video directly to the new Pixelfed app!

And it will ask you if you want to add to a new post, or add to your Story.

But wait, there is more. Since we support multiple accounts, you can even switch the account to post as ✨

😎

We heard you!

The Trending screen has been moved to Search to make room for a dedicated Compose button.

Rolling out in the next release ✨
