We know that Pixelfed is photo sharing focused, but sometimes you may want to see text posts and their replies.

Our new mobile app has a text-only post redesign, making it much easier to view and interact with them.

You won't see them in feeds, but we may add optional and opt-in text post support in the home feed.

It's cleverly simple, yet consent-driven because you need to add the #fedi22 hashtag to your bio to be included.

Accessibility is important, which is why we already support a setting that requires you to add Alt Text to posts before they are shared!

You can also set the default post visibility across web and mobile currently, but this will be more prominent in our new mobile app ✨

When designing the new Pixelfed mobile app, our main goal was to make it much easier to use and manage.
