@BrodieOnLinux Not a take I expected anyone to have. It's a bit grim-dark, if you want to steal a book-tube phrase.
It's just not something that I expected to find online. A celebration of your own death before it happens is a bit macabre, imho.

I'll never understand Reddit.
(not only is the post fucked up, look at the subreddit)
@hellomiakoda @opensuse then it won't be a challenge for you. But we're not all you
Okay, so I've had a lot of people ask what the #2YearLinuxChallenge is. So I will make this post and pin it to my profile.
Basically, I (and any who join me) are vowing to use the same install of one distro for a single year. When something goes wrong, we fix it. No distrohopping, nothing like that. VM use and containers are allowed. This is to be done on your most used PC. Other PCs are at your discretion.
I chose @opensuse Tumbleweed as my distro.
Used the new logo in the thumb for tonight's video, and of course one of the comments was about it being AI. Which it's not, but it means that the logo is going to be trashed because I'm not going to keep getting that comment over and over again.
Why do I do YouTube again?
@joel lol you're welcome. I've asked before but what do you use to track your time and apps and such?

(credit to @joel for this idea, great idea to do this, I will steal it)
Is @verge no longer about tech news? I'm not saying I agree or disagree with the article (didn't read it). But, we get enough of the doom and gloom and horror stories from the main stream media. Maybe talk about the latest iPhone or something.
Oof. Tomorrow is Monday.
I honestly don't care about Linux distros anymore. The longer I use Linux, the less the distro matters. I think my channel will change a lot in the next year or so as I do less and less distro-specific content. It's already toned down to the point where I just talk about openSUSE and do a few long-term reviews, but even then, that stuff will happen less often too.
@mr_penguin by that reckoning there’s nothing to buy. So I might as well just not have a computer. Thank you.
Having the oddest internet problem. Some sites are just inaccessible. I can't go to flathub or download from the Packman repo or go to strawpoll. Also the LanguageTool has stopped working because it cannot connect.
It happens across all my devices, so it's not a Linux problem. All other websites, at least so far, work just fine. I have no clue what is going on.
Brand new HP laptop won't post. Says the cmos is corrupt, but all the ways to reset the cmos do not work (and there is no cmos battery)
Pro tip, never buy HP.
I'm okay with Mastodon being the Linux of social media. It doesn't need astronomic growth to be awesome
He is sure letting Iron Mike very close to his ears.
r/unixporn is pretty boring when every post is hyprland and waybar.
The good old days when there were 10 different WMs and DEs that people used and posted rices are over, apparently.
I regret switching to proton mail. The apps are not good at all and the bridge is not reliable. Even if I wanted to just use the webmail,I'd have the same UI issues I have with the electron app. (namely it is impossible to zoom in on an email. Zooming in zooms in on the entire app, which is idiotic)
My first day back on xorg and i3wm has gone very well! Very happy with the change. Finally back on a window manager.
Politics is bad on Mastodon. It is *way, WAY* worse on Bluesky. Wowza.
