There is a larger group of people who want to pick up addressing the big pain points in vNext social web for a long time.

@helge started Fedi Vision talk.

I proposed starting a "protosocial" fellowship to mature that vision, do the work, write specs and docs. A space where individual initiatives come together, yet everyone retains full independence.

There are multiple ways. Discourse has a plugin for Github I think, that might be adapted to work with Codeberg.

A step further would be to rely on ActivityPub and/or @forgefed to facilitate such integration.

There's also a more procedural question. Why would we want to connect these? Maybe each tool has its own thing where it excels and should not be used as Swiss army knife.

The federation of SocialHub has upsides, as well as downsides to be considered more closely.

Re:SocialHub federation. Discussion fragmentation may be one of those downsides. There's more fragmentation now, because microblogging has become the primary way to discuss topics. And microblogging is super fragmentary and fleety, and only reaches whomever is mentioned and how it then randomly disperses by boosts. There may be easier access, at the cost of less community.

@strypey I was mentioning that, because originally the issues weren't meant to be discussion threads, only to be used editorially. And each FEP an associated SocialHub discussion thread, always. And tracking issues pointing to that. Tracking issues are also not for discussion.

It changed later to 'we prefer SocialHub, but you can discuss everywhere', and that is where exceptions like Evan's now exist. Idk if that happens often. @silverpill is the hero of FEP 'commons janitoring' to ask about it

The gruesome atrocities perpretrated in the name of the Israeli people by their mandated government, continue to pile up. Horror upon horror. When is there a majority of population large enough to call a halt to the vengeance and bloodshed? Is Israel already an autocracy where such majority doesn't matter and rightwing extremists can just do their worst? Have people become so blinded by rage, only to see clearly once again when the bloodlust subsides? As happened in history so many times before.

Now even more arguments to other people to make them switch messenger apps.

This Joy of Coding notion led me to expand the concept to be #JoyfulCreation.

Reminder: AS/AP-based suffers from #BallOfMud based ad-hoc expansion unless we find common practices and stick to them. Collaboration across a commons is essential here. Just coding your app with custom #ActivityPub protocol extension is contributing to #ProtocolDecay and increasing complexity to facilitate broad #interoperability.

The #FEP process and #SocialCG are where collective effort and proactive participation can improve #fedi for all. We need a bottom up standardization process.
