In a move that tech insiders are calling long overdue, users are finally waking up and fleeing the Torment Nexus.

Surprisingly, the overwhelming majority of the exiled Torment Nexus users is migrating to the Agony Vortex, which recently concluded its beta and is now open to the public.

While California was feeling smug about ourselves for voting for Harris, we also rejected a ballot initiative that would have prevented prison slave labor.

@mekkaokereke Yeah, that one is just wild. Like, the wording was so amazingly clear: Vote yes if you want to abolish slavery. And like 53% of people were like, "Nah, let's keep slavery around."

We are nowhere near as enlightened as so many people like to pretend we are.

I wonder if this question on a US naturalization form is gonna get updated after January 20.

Today's gonna be one of those days that require a lot of serenity, courage, and wisdom to get through. Go to a meeting if you're able.

We have a lot of bad coping mechanisms for this shit, but now's the time to put the tools of recovery into practice.

At the park with my kids. There's a soccer game going on. A bearded dad with wraparound sunglasses, baseball cap, and gold chain keeps yelling at his kid to soccer harder I suppose, and I can't help but think that there's no universe where me and that guy could be friends.

REASONABLE PERSON: Well, I guess the lesson here is don't knowingly spread lies.

TL;DR, the best strategy is to vote in every primary and every election, always picking the candidate who most aligns with your own needs/hopes/desires.

@mike What is this "finding a candidate" silliness? If it's not Biden, it's Harris. If the Democratic nominee is neither Biden nor Harris, the president's name in 2025 is going to be trump.

There's really no point in "finding a candidate." We HAVE a candidate. And a backup.

I've read that there's more support for a process.

That sounds like exactly the kind of wishful thinking the Quitter Caucus would put out there. NO ONE wants a convention where party insiders hold a vote when millions of people have already voted for the Biden/Harris ticket. That would disenfranchise millions of core Democratic voters, the kind that show up for primaries.

AOC is right. These people are either clueless or bought. If it's not Biden, it's Harris.

The conservative defense of today's insane SCOTUS ruling goes something like this:

"If a sitting president ordered SEAL Team 6 to take out an opponent, they'd obviously be impeached and removed from office."

This is a line you'll hear, that impeachment is a remedy. And I want you to be aware that that's bullshit.

The republicans refused to remove trump AFTER HE HAD INCITED AN INSURRECTION. They genuinely do not give a fuck about anything other than power.

They must be defeated.

For real though, billionaires shouldn't exist.

And, like, not because of policy or economics or whatever, but just, like, imagine if you had a billion dollars. And you buy yourself a yacht, but not just a yacht, like, a YACHT yacht. To show up your billionaire buddies.

Imagine what yacht money would do for a school, or a rural hospital. Imagine how many opportunities you could create if you didn't drop cash on a doomsday bunker but on the welfare of others.

Into the sun, the lot of them.

What terrifies me is the thought of a Nazi Germany that didn't immediately go to war because it already had plenty of land and resources. Imagine how that could have festered. The atrocities they'd have been free to commit.

That's where a second trump term leads.

republicans: "Elect us so we can fix our broken government!"

Democrats: "Hold up, YOU'RE the ones who broke everything. Do you take us for complete fools?"

republicans: "Oh shit oh fuck HEY LOOK OVER THERE AN IMMIGRANT! AND A GAY! AND, UHHH, AN UPPITY WOMAN!"

The 25% of the Electorate who show up to vote no matter what: "That's a compelling argument. You have my vote!"

The rest of us: "Pack your bags, kids, we're moving to the god damn Moon."
