   It’s worth noting how extremely unusual this is. A US president’s movements are almost impossible to keep secret, not least because they’re accompanied by a press entourage and very prominent security and communications details. Even in the presence of threats or sensitive meetings, they don’t generally even try to do something like this. This suggests the threat was considered very serious.

     One thing that wasn’t clear is whether the decoy VC-25A, flying as AF1, carried the staff and WH press corps for the (at risk) flight from Turkey to the UK.

     Also, the headlines saying Trump was hiding in a "catering cart" are a bit confusing/misleading. He boarded the plane via one of those containers that they drive up to airplane doors to load and unload things like catering carts. Not in one of the little trollies that flight attendants push down the asile when passing out meals.

     @mattblaze Knowing what we know about the guy, how petty and cruel he is, I think it's almost guaranteed that he made his staff and the press corps fly on the threatened plane.
