So, the two signals that are on my mind right now are Microsoft paying experienced workers to leave and switching from Microsoft Gaming back to Xbox branding.
The first is a short-term cost-saving measure. Older employees draw bigger salaries and cost more in terms of healthcare, and paying them to quit rather than laying them off can be the cheaper option.
The second indicates that the new head of their gaming division wants a reset.
Both of these together spell major trouble.
