Corporate Dems: While you whine about a streamer, Israel has killed 1800 Lebanese civilians including 120 children, injured 5800 civilians, & displaced 1.2M civilians—all with US taxpayer funded weapons. This is while Netanyahu dragged fascist Trump into a war with Iran that left everyone worse off, killed 1900 Iranians, injured 25K more, & cost $45B in US taxpayer dollars. If you had a spine you would cut all funding to Israel and demand Netanyahu's arrest. Stop Being Complicit In Genocide.
(April 9, 2026) The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) will officially start the paving season on Monday, April 13 with repaving 1.14 lane miles on NE Siskiyou Street from NE 7th to 17th avenues. The work is funded by Fixing Our Streets, Portland's voter-approved 10-cent gas tax and heavy vehicle use tax for fixing our streets and making them safer for all.
This neighborhood greenway is popular for people on bikes and other non-motor vehicles. During construction, all travelers will be asked to detour to NE Klickitat Street. Sidewalks will remain open at all times for pedestrians.
Maintenance crews will work from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on business days and possibly weekends. Crews will complete one travel lane before starting on the next. The work is expected to be completed by April 22, 2026.
The traveling public is advised to expect delays, travel cautiously, observe all closures and directions by flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible. Local access to residences and businesses will remain available.
This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule may change.
@darkuncle@nazokiyoubinbou Alas... bicycles lead to roads... and bicycles also lead to motorcycles... both of which lead to cars, which leads to freeways... which leads to suburbs and anti-pedestrian and anti-bicycle infrastructure, and climate change.
Up here in the PNW, we're about to see our temps drop into the 50's, which will seem quite cold, I think, with the rain and after this warm, sunny weather we've been enjoying.
Their troops are losing ground and cannot make progress. Under a ceasefire, they will move farther into Ukrainian territory, and have time to get oil refined and moving again. They do not need a ceasefire. They need Russian surrender and Russian troops withdrawing from captured territory. A ceasefire would seem to advantage the Russians now.
"Trump having a meltdown over right wing influencers a couple hours after Melania's bizarre unannounced 'EPSTEIN DIDN'T SET ME UP WITH DONALD STOP ASKING' conference sure feels like timing worth noticing."
"...The car caught fire, and firefighters took a significant amount of time to put it out. The driver’s legs were pinned under the dashboard, and he died at the scene...."
Holy cow things are intense here at Volcanoes National Park. Pele is going off! The park is closed and evacuated (except for those of us at Kilauea Military Camp). Tehpra everywhere. Indy did not get to see Pele today as we deemed it was too dangerous for him to go outside with everything going on. What an experience!
Going with rust covering paint on this. Did a quick once over with a metal brush while wet to knock off loose rust, and I see the undercoat is most certainly that vintage leaded paint white (it has a certain sheen). So, better covered and encapsulated than removed. Washed with a degreaser. There are bits of ancient cement I can't remove... they will have to remain there I suppose. #ReduceRepairReuseRecycle#wheelbarrow#repair
I have but one small request. Let's do what we can to make this our national anthem! I want to hear it sung at every athletic event in the country! Just imagine! 😍
