Insulating homes and offices is going to be critical for countries facing extreme heat, also build in passive stores of energy, a large tank of water and other thermal mass, to moderate the temperature during a day. After a few days of 40 °C temperatures, the resilience may start to be not so effective though. Shading will also be essential to reduce heat load.

Passive solar may not tolerate the heat very well, perhaps solar-thermal is the way to go.

I'm so happy that Claudia Sheinbaum will be President of Mexico soon. I wish her the best to make her country safer and more egalitarian.

I am thinking more aggressive, like a civilian police action would be in response to something like 9/11. It was a political 9/11 with domestic terror actors.

First of all, they should have kettled the insurrectionists out of the Capitol and arrested them all, processed finger printing and other biometrics. Then after 1/20, conducted extensive and aggressive FBI inquiries into all of the people. It was essentially a law and order emergency.

In any functioning country, after Jan 6, 2021, there would have been sweeping raids, the kind of raids the fascists dream about re: immigrants, that should have cleaned up the treasonous and insurrectionist feelings out of everyone like the Boers who said they were all against the apartheid the whole time. A purge of Nazis, fascists, insurrectionists and actual terrorists. Biden lost that opportunity.

In the US, the ID must be current, i.e. at current address, paid for by yourself. It can take a few hours to get one, and take $20 or more per person, so poor people that don't drive and move often from one rental dwelling to another have to spend a significant amount of time and money to get 'acceptable' id. After sustained inflation in all expenditure categories, the baseline prices are already too high and most employers have not given their employees cost of living adjustments, minimum wages have not been updated for 15 years. The vibes are vibes for the privileged but crushing poverty for those who aren't. The economic relief from public expenditure in 2020-2021 was helpful but there needs to be more salve for the wounds of the poor.

I claim to do nothing like that. It is rather the blind support for Biden out of fear of Trump that is making so many people deaf to the harms visited upon others in our names. Put him on notice, put his party on notice. Voting for Biden is to let it keep burning, a bit faster even, voting for Trump is worse, it's more accelerationist. I demand better choices.
