@whknott @mekkaokereke Holy shit! Is that why? I live in Arizona, so I'm not too familiar with the area, but I was driving through there 10 years ago with a freakin' RV and it's impossible to get around anywhere there in one of those.

I should've known. Motherfuckers. I knew a LOT of transit and highways are the way they are because racism, but I still learn more.

@mekkaokereke I'm convinced at this point that "rugged individualism = liberty" as sold no better than in the United States is a deliberate strategy to keep people isolated so they can't unite or work together. Sad to say that I fell for it myself for far too long. I'm trying to learn better!

@smach @mekkaokereke We have three school board seats up in my town and five people running for it. There's three of them that are one each a Rep, Ind, and Dem that are what I call the "Sane Squad" who still believe in public schools. The other two are MAGA whackadoodles. I hope the three win. Incidentally the only Republican I voted for, but only technically, since they're ostensibly non-partisan positions.

@mekkaokereke White guy here. Can confirm this is true. In Arizona they've moved up to state legislature and even in a couple cases the US leg.

The tv domain is marginally better, because Tuvalu at least sees some of that money, but their country is in danger of ceasing to exist due to climate change, but ICANN doesn’t give a shit. If the ISO removes their 3166 code, they will follow suit.

@mcc Oh wow. It's been a long time since I thought of myself as even an avid amateur game developer (I just do music at the avid amateur level now). Glad to see SDL is still around and working towards a v3 these many years later! SDL made so much stuff a breeze to do.
