@bruces It's not an algorithm in the sense of Meta or Xitter pushing content. It's just a simple check to see whether an image has alt text.

But you know this. And I also believe you know it's not "free labor" to post alt text for an image any more than it's "free labor" to post at all. #AltText is "giving a shit about people with disabilities" and blind folks use the fediverse because despite your belligerent grandstanding, other people do.

@godpod As an American who has been to Canada twice, once for a conference and once to get married, I disagree.

With one exception, i was treated wonderfully. The only poor experience I have had in Canada was in a Pizza Pizza, and the Canadian customers got food just as meh as I did.

The other thing to note is that shoyu and "soy sauce" are supposed to be different. Shoyu has a lighter flavor, is gluten free, and is meant for use after cooking, while what most Americans know as soy sauce has wheat added, and is heavier, so it holds up better under high heat.

@skinnylatte All the Krispy Krunchy outlets around here are in gas stations so, between that and my innate distrust of any place that uses alliterative K's, I've never tried it.

@skinnylatte The only chicken chains I'll go to in the US are Popeyes and Crown, but we do have one Jolibee in northeast Philly that's worth an occasional pilgrimage. (TBH though, I mostly crave the peach mango pies.)
