@TrevorGoodchild@SavvyLevie@Kerosene While not knowing this technicality, I have know for years that the sense of smell was essentially the brain itself, a vestigial of the original sense. Gandalf had it right: "Always follow your nose."
@KarlDahl@sickburnbro@judgedread I'm 2/3 the way thru F:WTC*, and am learning so much. Josef's story is great, but I find myself paging back to grasp the byzantine politics.
He's grown so much. You are a hella writer... And his dream sequence was seriously effed up.
*Lots of RealLife over the last few months; apologies.
@LawrenceGerald@NatalieTBP@Basketball_Jesus@ChairmanO15@DurpState We Catholics have come to terms with cremation. At the Second Coming, will we be perfectly reunited with our bodies? Yes. Is it for me to put God in a box and say how our bodies are disposed of until then? No.
I'll look at the Ballinger area. I just want to sit and tell the stories He gives me.
@TrevorGoodchild@pepsi_man@Terry@mullvad I'm trying to recall the quote, Dalrymple?, who said a feature of communism is to force everyone into pretending the lies are real, thus compromising everyone's soul.
@KarlDahl@sickburnbro One of the features of my future history are the Brother- and Sisterhoods, based on the Spartan model. A dozen kids, in at age 8 and out at 18. Self-directed. Lots of outdoor exercise, some classroom teaching, Bible study.
A huge force for social cohesion after the Breakup/Change.
@thefinn@s2208@zeke@DC5FAN I agree with that completely. Some kind of primary school for basic reading, writing, arithmetic. Beyond that? A third of the population are ditch diggers, most tradesmen or clerks, and a tiny fraction technicals or engineers.
SF writer with eighteen books - to date - of the future history of Machine Civilization. Semi-retired. Father of two wonderful, employed, debt-free daughters. Drunkard.
