    @rees @Tony ehh I don't buy that since it makes a number of unfavorable assumptions. such as people won't change the way they do things, or we won't start employing some sort of web of trust type model

    it ruins stuff like product reviews but those were already trash anyway

    that being said it is also extremely useful for forming habits. so if you use it as a tool to help build a going-to-the-gym habit then in a sense it made you strong

    @Suiseiseki @dushman so few people know what "free software" is intended to mean. they all too commonly believe that it refers to something proprietary which you don't have to pay for :smug10: unless your intention is to make people very confused about licensing you ought to avoid that wording

    simplifications have their place, but not when they give people the wrong idea. that's why I strongly advocate for the terminology "GNUtard compatible software" which leaves absolutely no room for ambiguity

    @newt @SuperDicq @Zergling_man yeah I used to use that functionality with KDE and it was really nice for what it is but I just don't find it to be as seamless as a fully keyboard centric flow

    large screens are actually one of the two places where I appreciate i3 the most because I find it less cumbersome when splitting the space in 3. I guess if I was up past 5 or so panels in a given dimension it would start to get pretty annoying to tap-tap-tap a window through from one side to the other (well there are less cumbersome approaches but anyway)

    the other place is laptops. trackpads are just miserable imo and it's really nice not constantly feeling compelled to pull out a wireless mouse

    :top_kek: trying to blame government mismanagement on the farmers now? you don't need to turn farmland into housing you need to build up. if you're going to turn farmland into anything then returning it to wilderness would generally be a much better plan

    I suspect many of the farmers might dispute either the semantics of the stated goal or the effectiveness of the measures in achieving them. at least in the US a lot of the rhetoric around "sustainable" doesn't make much sense to me

    I'm fairly biased though because farming regulations in the US already make nearly zero sense in many ways
