    I dunno, personally I take food security quite seriously. if it's really just a shift away from meat production and nothing more then that's not so bad although I can't say I agree with those sorts of measures either

    @SuperDicq @Moon according to them the environmental measures in question fuck over the status quo of the food supply chain there in various ways. I'd be interested in numbers however just in general given all the misguided government policies I've witnessed to date I'm initially inclined to take them at their word

    the entire thing is (imo) analogous to a slap fest over what the power output of a phaser is or if an unobtanium shield can block superman's ray beam or whatever

    I don't know that they've ever really served much of a purpose rather than being a historical whimsy. it's not as though all languages out there bother with them. then for some reason people went and started obsessing over these seemingly pointless things

    stop and ask yourself, what concrete distinctions are these terms actually communicating? language is a tool after all
