@maxmustermann@ledocool@lina You just "dislike" them for being annoying. You'd start actively loathing them if you ever try hosting your own services open to world. They're openly parasitic, throwing their shit everywhere where they could reach just to see whether some admin is sleeping on duty or not, only to scurry like rats when they eventually get noticed. People register on random instances just to search up for CP keywords from pawoo. One notorious 4chan ban evader was hacking up random people's insecure personal websites just to inject a copy of vichan and set up CP boards. To quote p, "It should not be a surprise that if someone's gratification is predicated on getting what they want without regard for who it hurts, that person is happy to engage in parasitic behavior like this: violating a server and panicking an adult is no big deal if you're willing to violate a child and potentially ruin the kid's life".
@Asklepian@saltyfishboi@lina@MK2boogaloo May be for some, but for me it doesn't ring that many bells. I could remember maybe four insances with that TLD and only one of them was for pedophiles.
@Asklepian@saltyfishboi@lina@MK2boogaloo Literally just go to about page of my instance. Quite a few domains are defunct but I still keep them in case they pop up again.
Managed to rotate it enough to get rid of the tilt. Noticeably less wobble on the second monitor but it's smaller and thicker so what can you do. Probably just gte used to it.
@phnt@m0xEE@kirby@p >I've tried multiple times to use light themes and always go back in less than a week. The fact that modern UI design almost always considers either #000000 on #ffffff or #ffffff on #000000 with no inbetween doesn't help. Always with the thinnest font possible, too. Look at interfaces of the 90s, Windows 9x/NT and whatever was going on in Unix world at the time, they all have dull grey-ish tint that's much easier on the eyes.
Said coworker left the company not that long ago, used to be responsible for inventory keeping. Now turns out shortly before leaving, she was asked to place an order for a replacement A3 color laser printer as our old one broke, couldn't find it among the lists for our contractors and ordered a similiar looking model without looking at the specs. Now we have a huge-ass $3000 black and white printer we have no use for.
@p@dcc@j@Suzu@lanodan@hj@sun >but at some point, basically anyone starts to think I'm shitting them or they lose patience with my rabbit holes, and it's that way with anyone, right? Probably has to do something with the fact in current year and day, you're talking like you're still on usenet. Everyone except other uncs sees you as an unc. It's about age and generational gap.
@p@Suzu@dcc@hj@j@lanodan@sun Not saying it's a bad thing, just a general observation. Even older zoomers have trouble understanding what their younger peers are yapping about and vice versa.
