One of my brother's who lives stateside in NC nowadays used to make the weirdest goulash mixes back in the hard slog days and it used to gross me out and he knew it. Beans with eggs and pearl barley soaked in lamb juice from shanks was one he'd smother over a mountain of potato haha

@p I grew up serving high tea to my mother growing up and always go tea before coffee, although I only drink those packet cappuccino things and add cocoa at the end sprinkled on top for no reason.

@p @TeaTootler they aren't even even slaughtering lean meat bulls, that's how desperate shit has gotten. It's not the middle or lower income earners that can be fussy and make the choice to pay for better options on the menu. Be that across the board for anything with a consumption tax attached. There's no instant production day coming hahaha

@p @TeaTootler the midwest ongoing drought wasn't caused by cow slaughters. It was lower from 2016 to 2020. Long before the COVID year start. Herd lots can't thrive in drought conditions, let alone rebuild lost stock, now at it's lowest levels in 60 plus years. 2023 to 2024 alone saw record drops. Fast forward a year and it's dire levels. You can't rebuild stock fast enough to replenish the fact the US imports the same percentage of beef it exports. So it's reliant on beef imports to supply the local/domestic market. A consumption tax will raise the cost of burgers that don't use domestic product.

@p most likely over the weekend. Cashier's use the back staircase as a ciggie spot on breaks, so I'm guessing someone would've noticed people inside making noise or obviously visible. Small rural town turned into a circus for all to see today. I will say given the cost of living crisis and near no rentals available it kinda was a matter of time for it to happen. Rentals are as rare as hens teeth lately.

@p I've just finished shopping and it was hilarious. 5 guys were squatting in the house beside the shop hahaha 🤣 cops came and it was the most buzzing I've seen in town in months.

There's a few older guys that park under shady tree's with their horses, most park it straight at the Hotel between the bakery.
Going shopping locally is an experience in itself.
The mountain people come out in all their odd flamboyant style and make it unique. The cashier's you can still call by name, or one I just call tall blond chica haha

@p nothing beats the rotary. Come on September. If they don't give me my license back then I'll burn the DMV/department of transport building down.
Luckily I've got a friend that works there and should get me a stamped on my way, experience.
In the meantime it's horses or 2 stroke bikes 😂
It's nice living in a town you can still take your horse into town though.
It's like stepping back 50 years just 25 minutes off the coast and beaches.

I purchased some dirt bikes so the government can't keep me out of the bush trails and I can make my way into town.
Something about the smell of 2 stroke gets me all wet and wild.
