@Doomed_Daniel They do, or did in the past. See "Analog Audio Adapter Accessory" (Appendix A of the USB Type-C spec before revision 2.3). They connect the raw analog lines through D+ and D- (and some sensing stuff on CC, VConn or so).

But it got removed, so on newer devices this might not longer work.

@GossiTheDog @vmstan The Brodcom site does not list vulnerable version, but only fixed ones. 6.x is not general supported, so not fixed. It however does not tell anything about not vulnerable.

Es geht hier um Saktionen nicht gegen einen Staat als ganzes, sondern gegen genau definierte Assets dieses Staates.

@jwildeboer The relevant data sheet lines are: MPP voltage and operating voltage. The inverter input needs to be able to handle the voltage provided by the panel. And if you chain two panels, you need to sum up those voltages.

Example:

VertexS 400Wp module:
VMPP: 34,2V
VOC: 41,2V

Enphase IQ8M inverter:
Operating range: 16-56V

This combination can clearly not handle two such panels on one input.

@nieldk @jtig @GossiTheDog How can you ever unlock this device? Nothing can communicate, so nothing can get the unlock trigger. Or is the lockdown stuff itself leaky?

@bkim @agwa google.com sets a CAA record that explicitely forbids issuance by anyone except Google's own CA. A public trusted WebPKI CA is required to check this.

In the end it just adds to the list of problems that where already mentioned in the two unsuccessful inclusion requests to Mozilla. And it seems Microsoft does not care.
