   Solar experts! A question. I already downloaded lots of manuals, but there never seems to be a clear answer.

   When I buy a #Microinverter that can handle two solar panels, does it also work when I connect only one panel?

   Reason is quite simple. I will buy and connect a second panel, but not right now.

     @jwildeboer The relevant data sheet lines are: MPP voltage and operating voltage. The inverter input needs to be able to handle the voltage provided by the panel. And if you chain two panels, you need to sum up those voltages.

     Example:

     VertexS 400Wp module:
     VMPP: 34,2V
     VOC: 41,2V

     Enphase IQ8M inverter:
     Operating range: 16-56V

     This combination can clearly not handle two such panels on one input.
