The WORM was just a security measure to enhance data integrity because it could only be written once.

I use plan9 every now and then. I do appreciate the simplicity of a true multiplexer and the related sharing / substitution of name spaces, but it's just not a daily driver. Besides, you can get similar effects from the users perspective in linux using ssh, fusemounts, and/or X11 forwarding or xpra.
Plus, machines are way more powerful and have a lot more ram and storage, and networks are way faster, than what Rob was working with at that time. That defeats a lot of the need for distribution of network resources. -

I write for a living. Libreoffice is fine for daily drafting. I do my contracts and settlement agreements in it.
If you're producing real documents, you'd be using a typesetter anyway, and not a WYSIWYG editor. I use typst for pleadings and estate plans, etc. -

and excel is a lot better than sheets or whatever it is called (though it has some incredibly frustrating 256 character x86 bullshit that I haven't ever bothered to code solutions to get around - and these are obscure file generation problems that nobody other than programmers will ever deal with)
I mostly write in markdown because styled text is the devil. -

Women judges tend to be more predictable. They'll always act in the manner that gives them the feeling that they're powerful, and they don't feel that way unless they outwardly express it.
Most male judges don't sweat the small stuff and will keep their mouth closed even if the see something out of the corner of their eye. They're more reserved. A female judge will always have to let you know how smart and observant she is, especially if she gets to ride someone's ass because of it. -

I remember one female judge that basically told me that she was going to shift the cost of a partition (the forced sale of co-owned property) on to us if we didn't settle and despite black letter law that stated that division was to be based on ownership and equitable shifting was only allowed where there's some impropriety (breach of trust, perjury). Defending or requiring trial is not a ground for a sanction. When I pointed to the law on the issue, it only made her more angry because she was just fucking wrong, but couldn't admit it. I was smart enough not to mention how unethical her behavior was (threatening a sanctions for a protected exercise of due process). I didn't bend though and costs were eventually split according to code, because I twisted opposing counsel's arm, but she wasn't happy. Fish of Rage likes this. -

Judges are regulated by the judicial council here, and rarely get pulled. I've only seen one judge removed during my career. Usually it requires some extreme departure from acceptable conduct and an effect on the litigants. We came out fine, so a report would have be unfruitful. -

The main issue is incomplete library porting.
It would be possible to compile Linux with a lot of work, but doing so would be pointless, as you would have extreme difficulties installing the updated version and chances are it won't be usable (i.e. missing proprietary driver for the touchscreen etc). -

Trisquel GNU/Linux-libre is actually user friendly, as it respects the users freedom instead of shoving proprietary malware down their throat and it's perfectly usable with only GUIs without ever having to run GNU bash in a terminal emulator.

Although most shopping centers only offer WC's due to anti-competivine practices and corruption, you actually have to travel to a shopping centre, which isn't that easy really.
Often you can walk a few steps to a dumpster and find a perfectly fine computer, or find them dumped on the street because windows broke and really, installing Trisquel GNU/Linux-libre via the installer GUI is easier than traveling to a shopping centre.
It's just as difficult to order a computer online running a proprietary version of systemd/Linux or windows and often the former is cheaper too. -
