I called and told my Dem reps to do the shutdown.

A 90 day shutdown in ‘26 will bankrupt me.

@StillIRise1963 My idea of a few hours ago. Every church, cafe and any other group that can organise a crowd should meet in the street. Churches outside on the own property. Cafe owners open their sidewalk gear like it’s the pandemic. EVERY GROUP gets together sing ALL DAY Sunday. Neighbourhoods get to local parks. Libraries open their grounds. No marching, no chanting, no “protesting”.

Just people living their lives outside and everyone singing whatever sing they want

Everyone can sing it. It’s African American in origin. It’s simple “Come by here my Lord, COME BY HERE”. Some of us might balk at the religious part, but someone will modify a stanza for us.

Every soldier, airman, sailor, and Marine know basic 22-5. They do formations EVERY DAY. They do a ceremony once a month or more, depending on who is leaving, taking command or graduating.

@mekkaokereke Those laws were not put in place “by Biden” and by Biden alone. The push for horrific drug laws started in the 70’s and were on steroids by Reagan. I can remember watching Phil Donahue say, “that’s what you want, more prisons?” in the early 80’s. By the late 80’s crack and powdered cocaine had different sentencing guidelines, targeting the black population.

Biden should go out pardoning those 2.8 million.

The real question is what can be done for the innocent on the ground? Is anyone creating ways to get out? Will Jordan or their border to refugees?m

I hate to tell you this, but Netanyahu will not be controlled by Harris anymore than he has been by Biden or was by Obama.

I agree Harris is the best choice for Gaza and the Middle East, but do not count on Bibi caring one way or the other.

@mattblaze You need to research what happens at the state level, especially in GA and NV. There are rules about who won the primary and what happens if someone withdraws. It’s my understanding that in either one or both of those states there would be no on on the Democratic ticket.

@Snowshadow @GottaLaff I ask this in all seriousness. I’m a granola crunching, attachment parenting, unschooling, mama and grandmother. My kids are ages 31-41. My daughters and granddaughter have fewer rights than I did. Is there ever a time when violence becomes part of the solution to our situation? Do we watch journalist be arrested and jailed? Do we watch interment camps be built?

I’m not ready to react to anything tonight, but we need to start thinking.
